Robert Jenrick bravely goes into the heart of legal London on a Sunday to record a video full of lies , misstatements and misunderstandings about lawyers .

The man is desperate
It was a pleasure working with Rabah on this case, who burned the candle at both ends to ensure the right outcome .

The rubber stamping of bail extensions by courts are too common . This case demonstrated the importance of scrutinising the evidence and asking why they need more time.
It’s only on for a short run at the young vic but please do try and get a ticket to see James Graham’s incredible play #thepunch plotting the journey that @longfordtrust.bsky.social scholar Jacob Dunne from reckless youth to prison and restorative Justice

Is a politician who gets being tough on the causes of crime acknowledging that the closure of 140 youth clubs and redundancy of youth leaders. There needs to be more focus on mentoring schemes.
Thank you it was appreciated ! And @sdavieslaw.bsky.social explained the role very well, though he needs to insist on a chair or take one of those airplane pillows to interviews ! ( yes that was a compliment not a dig Steve ;))
Otis also believes the notion that cases are won and lost in the police station
I try to avoid being a busman whilst walking the dog but had to give this a listen today. Excellently presented and a must for anyone who is looking for an incisive but not haughty insight into the criminal justice system by @joannahs.bsky.social

Have you not seen Musk imposing himself on your timeline for the last few months .
There is this weird parallel universe where a US bond villain who has taken control of another platform and the White House is obsessing about who is prime minister of the UK.
Only today we have received a call from someone in psychiatric hospital looking for a legal aid lawyer to represent her at Southwark Crown court .

I can’t imagine anyone will take it on, despite wanting to they can’t afford to as explained below .

Hey @gigsandtours.bsky.social can we get someone to check it’s Goldie not Blondie ?
But it sounds like there was no offence to admit and if she gave her account she would have been charged or no further action .
She stated that she was advised by her lawyer to make no comment and plead guilty . I don’t pretend to understand the circumstances she was advised in but I suspect given the disposal that this was done in haste with an expectation of a lenient penalty . Consequences are huge.
Louis Haigh’s case demonstrates the importance not only to seek legal advice but ensure that any decision to plead guilty is not made for expediency .
A promising political career has been damaged as a result of a decision made several years ago.
Otis’s bench
Wasn’t there today

Since 2016, there have been 3 elections, 6 PMs, and 4 different Brexit deals, none of which the Brexiters like.

Yet the same Brexiters who said voting on those deals would break democracy, want another election, because they don't like the result of the one 4 months ago.

These people are toddlers.
Occurred to me that it was 30 years ago that I voted for John Prescott for leader and I think Margaret Beckett for deputy .

Never have been able to pick a winner in these elections but it ages me !
Lovely place share it !

Congratulations to you both wishing you a happy future together.
We are one singular democratic entity on Bluesky we don’t have groupings based on race , religion or colour ;)
