Morning! Today I posted some H.P. Lampooncraft. Enjoy!

If you have not read The Wicked + The Divine then you have deprived yourself of pretty much the best comic of the past... I don't know how long. A long time though. Like the sort of time that you are sure wasn't that long ago, but then you see how old Macaulay Culkin looks now and you're horrified.
This went live last night - a big PDF bundle of the books I've written at Image. Includes The Wicked + the Divine, DIE, Phonogram, Ludocrats, the first Power Fantasy, We called them giants, etc. Basically, this is the stuff I got into comics to do, and a great chance to grab it.

Morning. I probably had slightly too much fun writing today's flash story. A little horror-comedy epistolary thing. Hope y'all enjoy! jonathanwood.substack.com/p/notes-sent...
Morning. Today, I posted some thoughts on horror fiction, and some recent insights into how it operates. There, now you know what I posted today. Lucky you? jonathanwood.substack.com/p/the-horror...
Morning. It's Monday so I've got a new bit of audio up. A little horror experiment where I got curious about what would happen if the horror element truly couldn't be put into words. Enjoy! jonathanwood.substack.com/p/indescriba...
Another Friday, another free story. This week, I was curious what would happen if a tale's horrors were as indescribable as Lovecraft used to say they were before he described them in loving detail...

Morning. I have been asked a handful of times over the years about how traditional publishing works, so I decided to put everything I know into one (hopefully) handy article. Hope some folk get use out of it!

Morning. Another day, another 6-minute podcast. This week: the name is also the thing it is: me trying to figure out as many ways to describe a sunrise as I can within 1000 words. All without descending into a cheesy mess (hopefully). Enjoy! jonathanwood.substack.com/p/29-sunrise...
29 Sunrises - Audio
A story of language and lumens
jonathanwood.substack.com
Hello, hello. It's another Friday, so there's another story up. Or... perhaps a self-indulgent creative writing exercise that I'm trying to pass off as a story. You decide! Enjoy? Maybe? jonathanwood.substack.com/p/29-sunrises
Morning! Today I flung some words at the wall, and some thoughts about descriptive writing, and using language in odd ways emerged. Enjoy! jonathanwood.substack.com/p/were-in-th...
Morning! It's Monday so I've got new audio fiction up. This week, I'm poking again at the idea of what we do when confronted with the inexplicable, this time around featuring naked bodies frozen in the ice. Enjoy! open.substack.com/pub/jonathan...

I cannot express how disappointed I am by targeted ads. All I get is ads for cat food (I do not own a pet), cars (I have owned two in 18 years), and moderate-to-severe Crohn's and/or psoriasis (which I'm fortunate enough not to suffer from). Wtf?
Morning! It being Wednesday, today I threw up some thoughts on writing and productivity. Enjoy! open.substack.com/pub/jonathan...
Morning! It's Monday! Start things right by listening to a silly story based on a silly typo. Go on. Do it. jonathanwood.substack.com/p/the-cod-wa...

Horror folks, it's the middle of September, and the Stoker Recommended Reading List is looking extremely small. If you're a member of the HWA, go recommend something you've read that you loved!

Morning. I misread the words "The Cold War" this week. The result: this incredibly silly story. jonathanwood.substack.com/p/the-cod-war
Morning. Today, I put up some thoughts about that old chestnut "write what you know" and why I largely disagree with it. Because I'm ornery on Wednesdays, that's why. jonathanwood.substack.com/p/advice-abo...
It's Monday, so I've got some fresh audio up. Trapped princesses, towers, and incipient madness. All you need to kick off your week. Enjoy! jonathanwood.substack.com/p/a-fantasy-...
Morning! This week's free story: a quick riff on the Rapunzel fairy tale. Just with a lot less fairy. Enjoy! jonathanwood.substack.com/p/a-fantasy-...

Morning! It's Monday so there's new audio up at Something's a Little Off. This week: a glimpse of a strange city, and what happens to people who linger too long. Basically, I let my New Weird freak flag fly. Enjoy! jonathanwood.substack.com/p/a-tourists...
