Republicans love undoing any of Roosevelt's work.
The government shutdown doesn't impact the willful desecration of historical landmarks, or so it seems.
A freeway interchange central to my morning commute was closed due to construction this morning. AWS has tipped over and is impacting services on my campus. I am getting the feeling I was meant to stay home today.
Earlier this year, when I was feeling low, I promised myself that when I got a job, with my first paycheck, I would treat myself to sushi for dinner. Tonight I made good on that promise. Let met assure you, dear reader, that it was tremendously good.
A fair tailwind enjoyed while out for chores. Each obstacle provided a consoling opportunity. More than I had reason to expect, and in record time. Before me lies the enchanting evening, kicky green beret and all.

Making space in my heart for a wailing, inconsolable regret. Resisting, as best I can, the impulse to withdraw into abject sadness. Tonight my regret and I will watch the rain from my porch and salve our hurt with the comforts of home.
Cool weather with rain on the way. I am already planning on getting mad snuggly when I get home. Probably have soup for dinner to lean into the feeling. How wonderful to experience the changes of weather that come with the circuit of seasons.

In Vietnam, there are myriad little lakes formed from bomb craters—in which lotus flowers grow. That image sticks with me. The Zen master and peace activist Thich Nhat Hanh taught, no mud, no lotus. Without the mud, the flower cannot grow. What will we grow from the mud we are collectively in?
When we board the ship of the vow of great compassion and sail out on the vast sea of light, the breezes of the utmost virtue blow softly and the waves of our karmic evil turn to merit.

The sweet promise of her presence was what it had always been, and he felt a wish to chide her for her cruelty, but she would only have disliked him for it.

Let nothing be called natural in an age of bloody confusion, ordered disorder, planned caprice, and dehumanised humanity, lest all things be held unalterable!

The first page is good. I probably won't be able to give it proper attention until this weekend.
