REVERSE-LC clinical trial update: I had a good 3-4 weeks followed by increasing symptoms and fatigue. I'm certain I'm on 4 mg of baricitinib bc I've needed extra labs. I've now lost 10% kidney function 😬 so dropping to 2 mg.

I know we'll crack this thing, but long covid is really hard

Several Chicago newsrooms spent two months collecting and analyzing evidence of ICE & Border Patrol's use of tear gas and pepper spray in Chicago.

They found that agents deployed chemical agents nearly 50 times. Most uses occurred after a judge ordered federal agents to restrict their use.

In principle, I couldn’t agree more. However, I don’t think we’re redundancy is a simple answer. I think these essential services need to be federalized.
The latest Cloudflare and Amazon outages have got me thinking about utilities. We can't build modern software without dependencies. The days of running entirely on the client are over, which I see as a good thing. The cost is that we rely on infrastructure.

Software utilities, I think, must be treated the same way: regulated (including price) and operated under oversight. Otherwise, they're just a robber-baron monopoly with a stranglehold on the economy.

I can’t believe how fucked up this is. It’s so anti-human I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy had bodies buried underneath his garden planters.

The entire right-wing propaganda machine came after Zohran Mamdani.

The president and his allies came after him.

Democratic leaders, by and large, did not have his back until the last minute.

He still won, turning out historic numbers and inspiring young voters.
