Right place right time for a change. #LongEaredOwl roosting along the #NorthNorfolk coast today #NorfolkBirding
Nice to find a #SnowBunting on #Cley beach this morning. An unusually mobile and flighty bird as it was chasing and catching flies #NorfolkBirding
I agree it’s a disaster for wildlife, all that work on positive net gain for nature on every development gone out of the window, people want nature on their doorstep. But I don’t read it that environmental NGO’s don’t stand to benefit, although I admit it’s more than a bit vague …
The obvious problem is that nature organisations stand to benefit from the bill and £££ to them speaks louder than those of us who enjoy nature on our doorstep
It’s been a challenge to get a photo of one of our local #LittleOwls as they rarely come out in daylight. Just about enough light at 9.26pm last night to get a photo, so I’m very happy 😁#NorthNorfolk #NorfolkBirding
Thank you, that’s really helpful 👍
Thanks James that’s what iNaturalist said too but my photo looks more like the Stag beetle in my Insect guide (Paul Brock) 🤔
Sorted, I’ve requested a square in an area I know reasonably well
I tried to log in to register a few days ago but I couldn’t get past the ‘prove you’re a human’ test 😂 I’ll try again …
Another exciting moment by the pond, a female #StagBeetle crawled out from under a rotting log, appeared to have a drink from the pond then returned to the log again #NorthNorfolk
So excited the camera picked up frog activity last noght in my new pond 🐸🐸😁
Pool party! The new pond gives me hours of entertainment but unfortunately the dragonflies don’t get a look in #NorthNorfolk

Always a joy to see a #MistleThrush from the bedroom window and they're quite regular visitors here but this one was so close I struggled to get it in the frame! Raiding the Amelanchier tree for ripened berries. Taken through closed window #NorfolkBirding
So thrilled with how successful my new wildlife pond is after just 3 1/2 months, it’s so popular with birds & starting to look like it’s always been there, I set up a wildlife camera this afternoon - I am of course hoping for some rarities 😁#NorthNorfolk

This little story about Labour’s swift brick u-turn is getting enormous readership - so @teamlabouruk.bsky.social it will be hurting you. Such a simple, positive, happy, cost-free measure to introduce
Labour's terrible, woeful planning bill could probably be made quite effective if the government took heed of many sensible, pragmatic amendments, including swift bricks. But they aren't taking heed. www.theguardian.com/environment/...
Labour blocks proposal for ‘swift bricks’ in all new homes
MPs had previously backed Conservative amendment to ask developers to provide hollow bricks for endangered birds

A treat to see the #BootedEagle drifting high over #BayfieldEstate #NorthNorfolk around midday today #NorfolkBirding
At last a closer view of a Temminck’s stint today at #Cley #NorthNorfolk #NorfolkBirding
Thanks Viv, I expect there’s a better way than I’m doing it but I haven’t been able to crack this one yet. It seems a right faff at the moment trying to post photos to Bluesky 🤔
