Emi Buendia: "We had a bad start, we couldn't feel comfortable to compete at what this competition deserved and after the break we showed different qualities. I think we have a really good squad and good players that didn't play today, they have good qualities."

#AVFC
Emi Buendia: "It's always important to work hard and push to the best shape for the manager, and fight for our place for him. It was a great quality goal. I tried to find the bottom corner, I know it is hard but we scored the goal and we got the win."

Unai Emery on Emi Buendia: "One reason for how he struggled in two years was his injury. He needed time to recover. He started this season and this pre-season different to the last one. His skill is clear. He has skills to make the difference. I am so happy with him."

#AVFC
Unai Emery on Ollie Watkins: "Today, Watkins played fantastic for 30 minutes. I watched him today thinking... wow. He didn’t score, but he was fantastic. We can be brilliant or not brilliant, but we always have to work."

#AVFC
Unai Emery on Morgan Rogers: "Always he is doing his task. Always. He is a hard worker. Through it, it is coming, his performance. The team needs the work and then his capacity and skills. Morgan helps the team for 90 minutes. It is very important."

#AVFC
Unai Emery: "There is still work to do. Players need to increase their level. Some of them have been injured. When we can have more players to choose from, it's better for the coach and our performance.."

#AVFC
Unai Emery: "We competed and were resilient. We kept the same plan despite going behind. When they scored we felt disappointed, but had the same mentality. There was enthusiasm to follow the plan and now we're adding positive energy after our poor start. It's important."

Emi Buendia: "From the start of the season I wanted to show everyone that I wanted to play for this team and for this club and I am glad I do it every game."

#AVFC
Emi Buendia on his goal: "I was preparing myself to run back for the counter attack. But I could help the team with the goal. It is really important for the confidence and to be helping the team."

#AVFC
Matty Cash: "We had a tough start to the season, everyone knows that. But all you can do is work hard and stick to what we've done over the past few years. We've picked up some great results, a really good win and hopefully we can keep up the momentum."

#AVFC
Matty Cash: "It's a massive win. This is a really tough place to come. We've won here before so we know what it takes. We were resilient all over the pitch and then Emi comes on and scores the winner, so thanks mate!"

A few excellent performances, including from Kamara - for whom I've run out of superlatives - a game-changing impact from Watkins, and Buendia… football heaven. 😍
