Gosh, I wonder what else on the bassist’s Wiki CV actually refers to the drummer?
john63kelly.bsky.social
Well, I shall still investigate yours! And I now know that bassist Tony Levin has played with Gary Burton, Herbie Mann, Buddy Rich, Kenny Wheeler and more.
john63kelly.bsky.social
Ah, I see! I didn’t even know there were two!

Will check that out. Thanks.

I’m hoping Beat make it over to the UK. Would love to see those songs performed live.

Dear Spain - Tell him to eff off.

I never really think of Tony Levin in a jazz context, but looking at his Wiki page he’s done plenty, hadn’t he?

Anyone know the best record shop in Edinburgh for secondhand CDs? I’ll be visiting next week, briefly. Thanks.

Took them long enough. This fear of even mentioning Brexit let alone spelling out its disastrous effect on our economy has played right into Farage’s hands.

Imagine spending all that money and then not getting through security? Because you tweeted something hostile to Trump. Or because you don’t have white skin. No thanks.

Me too. Vague recollection of 1970, vivid memories of 1974.

It’s not because you’re older - that really is what it has become.

Like Richard Pryor does in Superman 3!

One of Frank’s best. Superb arrangements by Billy May.

A concept album from when Rick Wakeman was still in short trousers!

His final album, and not a bundle of laughs, unsurprisingly, given his mental health at the time, but still very beautiful.

Agreed. I’m not a huge fan, but did like the Style Council.

I did go to see him about a decade ago at the Albert Hall. He played, IIRC, two Jam songs, two Style Council and about 25 from his very dull (IMO) solo albums. It was very long evening. We left before the end and weren’t alone.

This is my favourite Weller, I think, just above the Jam and a long way ahead of his solo stuff.

Inspired by watching Beatles ‘64 last night, which I do recommend. Amazing footage.

Features their first hit, I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe), as well as all time classic The Cinema Show. Phil Collins sings the rather lovely More Fool Me.

Mentions Green Shield Stamps! Ah, ‘70s nostalgia!

Debut album by Love and a pretty good start. Features their fine cover/reworking of Bacharach & David’s My Little Red Book.
