I did some cultural appropriation while visiting the highest observation deck on the southern hemisphere. UP at Thamrin Nine is the observation deck at some 385 meters above street level on top of the Autograph Tower in Jakarta, Indonesia. Entrance is about 5 euro per person.

Seat reservations just added 20% on my original Turkish Airlines ticket, but at least I have one flight seated in the row behind the emergency exit, so no seat in front of me. At least, that's how it looks on the seat map. 🤞

I visited Paris during the long weekend around Bastille Day, or 'le 14 juillet' as the French would call it. While I didn't enter the Eiffel Tower, it was nice spending some time in the parks around it on this nice and warm summer day.
