Just got reminded of the days when workstations ran 24/7 and all had public IP addresses. I'd `finger` the SGI box that my roommate liked to use in the other part of the town, check his idle time and `eject -t` his CD-DROM tray to say hello.

Testing out tangled.sh (with jujutsu) and this is my first sign that tangled is "social." But I am still wondering: How is using atproto enabling the socialness? I don't even understand how running knots decentrally leverages atproto and how that would be different than using, day, mttq or whatever
