An important win for the Sabres but their need to string them together outweighs everything. The direction of this season becomes much, much clearer over the next couple weeks.

Colten Ellis hasn’t played in a while and he’s been good so far. His active play really helps his defense out a lot.

On Mattias Samuelsson, Lindy Ruff said he was in concussion protocol afterwards but didn't get an update on whether he passed or not. Something to keep an eye on for tomorrow in Minnesota.
