I had the huge pleasure to speak with the cast of "Shoresy" recently to talk about hockey, their own histories in hockey, getting back into arenas with the Shoresy Classic and what the beauty of being beauties on one of the best shows on TV is like

How "Shoresy" Has Reset the Tone with an Inside Look at Hockey Culture
Hockey in pop culture is kind of a rare thing.

If you're wondering, goalie Alexandar Georgiev practiced w/the Rochester Amerks today.

It'll be Leevi Meriläinen for the Senators in goal tonight. Alex Lyon is the presumed starter for Buffalo since he was in the starter's net this morning

Lindy Ruff says Zach Benson will play tonight. He also added that Jiri Kulich will play, too, after initially being elusive about lineup choices. Ruff said he wants to see how Kulich responds to the warning shot in practice yesterday of playing on a line with scratches.

We’re expecting Benson to play tonight but Lindy Ruff will likely let us know in a little while.

Appears we have an optional. Twelve skaters, three goalies. Greenway, Benson and Luukkonen participating.

Sabres morning skate coming at you shortly. Sabres will be in the white “road” jerseys tonight because Ottawa is busting out their new alternates (I guess?)

Where did the Sabres white jerseys rank? Pretty high…

Awesome to see that Oswego State is retiring Pete Sears No. 1 at last. A hockey legend in Oswego and an Olympic silver medalist in 1972.

More from today - it's shaping up that Jiri Kulich could be scratched tomorrow.

"We need to be better. He needs to be a better player. He needs to make more plays. He needs to skate more. His skating inside the game hasn’t been where it was last year. He needs to be a better player for us."

Zach Benson is the most Hockey Dude that's been around Buffalo in ages - he's straight out of casting

Benson:

“I’m pretty fired up to get going. I think the energy around the room, I think we’re all excited to get going tomorrow and fired up to get off this losing skid and get some good vibes going around this barn.”

Greenway said his setback was rough but he’s glad to be back skating with the team again. Being away while the team is 0-3 is tough, he said, “My math is never great but we’ve got 79 more games, is that right? Yeah? We got a long season.”

Benson said he had to have the swelling in his face drained after being hit by a puck during practice. That led to being held in the hospital. He’s sporting a bit of a shiner under his left eye and had a bandage on his cheek still. He’s hopeful to play tomorrow.

Luukkonen, Ellis and Lyon all trading reps in goal. Lyon breaking in his Goathead gear this morning.

Every melatonin use has weird dreams for me - except this time when there were no dreams (to remember)
joeyerdon.bsky.social
Took a melatonin last night to get a full night’s sleep to shake whatever latent bug has been wearing me out. Here’s to hoping it paid off because waking up naturally before 6 am is insane stuff

Didn't seem like they were booing Dahlin specifically, just an overall booing of the team. Not Dahlin's fault he's always on the ice. With the owner in Atlanta for football tonight, the chants for the GM sort of fall flat

You know I've been around a while when I can look at the Sabres' tough starts to the season and make note of how different they are from year to year when they've had them.

On the grand scale, it doesn't matter because they're losses and the bottom line is it. The minutiae is my jam though.
