Trump: "I had a very wealthy person who called -- a donor, a great gentleman -- and he said, 'if there's any money necessary, shortfall, for the paying of the troops, then I will pay it.' Meaning he will pay it. How about that?"

Stock market whipsawing back and forth like a roller coaster every time a deranged old man posts a tweet. Our wise business titans were right to elect this guy

Not helping his case for winning the nom over the sitting governor tbh

Your brain has to be so damn warped and corrupted to not feel completely embarrassed and ashamed that this is your profession.

Why are people mad at him now? Being nice to Jews as the candidate of New York City, home to literally one million Jews?

I do think it is funny that people are worked up about this more than Cooper who is also old. I guess based on perceptions of the difficulty of winning the seat but Collins has been a stubborn barnacle! It might be a harder win than the open NC seat.

I mean Mills and Platner both have downsides and upside. I think people on here are discounting the value of electoral history tbh.

DSCC is going to do what the DSCC is going to do. If you want primary challengers, we gotta get comfortable with getting over the hump there.

The president is not allowed to just murder people on boats when he feels like it and it is *wild* that the entire Republican Party has decided that actually yes he is
jmteo.bsky.social
I don't love it but Maine is the type of state where if you can just get the seat in the D column you can probably rely upon it moving forward?

The primary will work this out and if Platner has the juice, he has the juice!

If you want to really feel the housing crisis, browse the Census microdata for LA households with lots of people in them. About 16,000 houses in LA County have three bedrooms and 8+ people.

I think people are getting way too mad about this.

The logic is have the governor with a statewide electoral history and name recognition unseat Collins and hand off the seat.

The primary will play out and maybe Platner catches fire but I don't think this is an out of pocket move by the DSCC.

🚨 The DSCC — led by Kirsten Gillibrand, Mark Kelly, Adam Schiff, and Lisa Blunt Rochester — has formed a joint fundraising committee with Janet Mills.

Mills, running against Graham Platner in the Maine Democratic Senate primary, would become the oldest freshman (79) ever elected, to a 6-year term.

The logic is have the governor with a strong statewide electoral record unseat Collins and then hand off the seat.

Reasonable to disagree with that approach but there is logic there and Platner has risk as he has no electoral history.

People want plausible deniability for their racism (i.e. "illegal immigration" or "criminals") but full mask off racism still is mostly considered shameful.
jmteo.bsky.social
Maybe I naively have hope in the American electorate, but I think this rank racism is bad for the GOP's long-term prospects.

POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.
