Today: long awaited first group playtest of our intimacy focused #ttrpg Excited to see how it goes, and what’s next

I read Stephen King’s Fairy Tale. Affecting story of a very King type young man tangled up in a fantasy world. The central motivation of helping his ailing dog helped me with my sorrow, having lost my dog a month ago. #booksky

Things that have changed after the dog: I feel I can listen to music loud. Also, my game prep on a #ttrpg night is done, like, hours before the game. I still miss him bad. Not all of the changes are unwelcome. Life’s complicated.

I'm still going through my #ttrpg notes archive, but based on records I consider reliable, I've run at least 63 different games over the years. Haven't done a proper breakdown of time spent on each but though I consider myself a "sampler" in my RPG tastes, man, that's a lot of Dungeons & Dragons

The #ttrpg calendar exercise is never straightforward. I'm currently juggling 15 players across 7 games. But now I do have seven more games scheduled for 2025, and another 6 for January. There's probably another 2-3 games that need to slot in somewhere there...

I wrote a TTRPG-specific gift guide that isn’t just nice or rpg books you already have or purposely don’t have. If you have well-meaning loved ones who support but don’t necessarily understand your hobby (or if you are that loved one) this may be helpful to share with them #ttrpg #osr #dnd

When you are shopping for a tabletop roleplaying game obsessive or D&D fan, most of the recommendations are for more TTRPG books or more dice, when they probably already have plenty. Here are 20 gift ...

The new Alien Roleplaying Game: Evolved Edition (2025) by Free League is out. What's new? What's changed? Is it good? www.roleplayletters.com/2025/11/27/a... #ttrpg

With the amount of crap (Office 365, Copilot, phone sync) Microsoft keeps trying to force me to use on Windows, I'm starting to feel all warm about a Linux distro. Just get out of my way and stay there, how hard is it? I'm already a paying customer

A thing I really dislike in modern thrillers: every character is on the phone in every damn scene. It’s difficult to build, maintain, or escalate any sort of drama when the characters aren’t physically in proximity.

Been waiting all week to see if this budding cold will materialize, and here it finally is. Not sure the end of anticipation was worth the price of admission

We played Trophy Gold. It didn't really work for us in a single session capacity. Interested in playing more longform. www.roleplayletters.com/2025/11/21/t... #ttrpg

I’ve read three novels in a week. Long distance travel for work does that.

#ttrpg sometimes linger. This one has changed our home

I read Titanium Noir by @nickharkaway.com A delightful sci-fi detective story, Blade Runner by way of Hammett/Marlowe. Exceptionally economical storytelling with a real kinetic quality to it. More accessible than Harkaway usually is, and comes easily recommended. #booksky

Yo @nickharkaway.com I love Titanium Noir but where in Finland is breakfast lörtsy a thing

I was pleased by the hungover faces rising from my aisle when we landed. Multiple passengers around us talked out loud about the need to bring proper earplugs the next time, and the crew was giving them a cold shoulder. I focused on being in an aggressively good mood (despite almost zero sleep)

the way these insomniac bros who can not shut up keep drinking, my whole area of the plane has smelled like an open bar for the past, what, six hours. On the plus side, I'm half another novel down
November 15, 2025 at 5:13 AM
Lord spare me from middle aged white businessmen not having the grace to shut the fuck up when the entire plane is trying to sleep. They're going on about their time in the military service now for chrissakes, of course swearing all the time. Yes you're very big burly boys, now pass out already

I read The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue on this trip. That was an at times hard read on loneliness, connection, and leaving a mark on the world, being 10 hours distant from home while reading it. #booksky

Oh shit I’m gonna play so much of the new Lumines won’t I
November 13, 2025 at 3:59 AM
I read the Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. Powerful stuff. Such command of language. I had less than zero interest in Greek myths, and this changed my mind completely #booksky

4.5 hour layover after a Helsinki - LAX flight ain’t no joke. Proper ready for bed, this one
November 10, 2025 at 4:08 AM
Watched Sinners on the flight. That's a damn movie
November 9, 2025 at 11:46 PM
As the plane ascended the clouds and I got my first sunset since Ramses passed, I've just been crying. I miss you so much, boy.
November 9, 2025 at 5:43 PM
I'll admit I'm far from the best I've been emotionally, but Mission Impossible The FInal Reckoning was b a d. I mean I did cry in the end and the last stunt was cool, but that wasn't anywhere near the level of the previous movies
