I think it's almost like mother-daughter thing. Maria expected Navena to accept being bitter and unhappy as part of her existence. Navena wasn't having any of it. So Maria changed into the boar and killed Nevena's husband, to maker her sad and biiter. But Navena still chose to try to be happy.

I thought it was mostly a look at old Balkaan culture and making the decision to be happy. Maria was so bitter that she didn't understand how Nevena adapted and found joy. Nevena knew life could be better than what she suffered. She just had to kill a few people and a dog on her journey.

This is pretty cool. Intrumental prog rock, but heavy. When I saw Goblin live they played entire soundtracks. Carpenter is playing individual tracks. Sometimes shows a movie clip in the background. But like, this is something I'll play again. I dig it.
