It seems the Spotify Android app now link-shorten (spotify.link) when you copy a song link - which seems to break most universal link platforms. Unclear whether they consider this a feature or a bug.
Having worked through the dotcom bubble, I can say one of the worst outcomes of the AI bubble will be that a bunch of idiots & con artists will make a lot of money and surround themselves with sycophants that will tell them they are the smartest person in the room for the rest of their lives.
I wish there was a rewind button on YouTube recommendations so I could easily jump back to my regular programming after going down some fleeting rabbitholes on woodworking, camper vans and electric motorcycles.
I'm not really a scary movie guy, but I just watched Weapons and enjoyed it.
That said, my superpower is in breaking software. An engineer I used to work with once called me "Captain Cornercase".
There is a lot of software I use lately that I swear the product manager(s) of it has never used.
I'm honestly quite surprised that Spotify is testing inflicting everyone with this UI for a feature that most people aren't going to give a shit about. If you want to just scan the playlist to see what's in it, good luck.
Yesterday my wife hit a giant pothole on the BQE and got a flat tire. She slowly made her way to the tire shop off the next exit. In the waiting room she met a couple that had also just hit the same pothole.

These tire guys are operating at the next level.
I'm so old that every time I buy a $16 sixpack at the bodega I think about the $6 cases of Milwaukee's Best we used to buy in high school. If we were really desperate, sometimes a $5 case of National Bohemian.
My apologies to all of my old coworkers that constantly have to field feature requests and bug reports from me for the rest of their professional lives.
I'm excited to see @leemartin.com documenting his explorations in using AI agents for good in music.

I may have to dig further into N8N as it is giving warm Yahoo Pipes vibes from the Music Hackdays he and I would always attend almost 20(?!) years ago.

I saw someone talking about the 2007 movie Children of Men yesterday, so I just rewatched it.

Unfortunately, it hits a little harder this time.
Got my 💉💉.

PSA: "I smoked a cigarette once in high school" is a qualifying risk factor.
Flash forward to Suno and Udio stream ripping virtually all of the recorded music in history.

Interesting music industry story no one is talking about (IMHO): the major labels gave up on pursuing massive music copyright infringement cases against YouTube years ago in exchange for them a launching a subscription music service (that they barely promote b/c YouTube is a much better business).
Asking it to analyze one of my songs it gave a long multi-part explanation although a bit generic. When asked more it basically copped to making it all up.
I was playing around with the new ChatGPT/Spotify integration, not to see what playlists it could create in Spotify but to see if it gave ChatGPT access to the audio files after you authorize it to connect to your account.
... as you lose the ability to convey that directly streaming lossless over WiFi to many of the Connect compatible devices (e.g. Sonos) is where the real value/use case of lossless really lives.
I can now confirm that the feature is largely the same as what I worked on, although I'm not a fan of the change that now as the "lossless" indicator share real estate with the Spotify Connect speaker selector...
It's been 5 years but it's good to see you again HiFi.

Time to fire up the Sonos...
Trying to find joy in the little things: today I did a pretty good headstand.
The ChatGPT commercial where the guy asks it how to impress a girl is a little too on the nose.
Shout-out to Oura who made getting a free replacement for a ring-that-no-longer-holds-a-charge pretty painless.

(I would love to know how many times they have already had to do that.)
What kind of idiot drops new music on the same day as the biggest artist in the world?

🤚 this kind of idiot! But mine is only a 3:47 long 🎸 song - so may I humbly suggest you start there?
