The recent Young Republican leaks read quite a bit like what finds in the average 4chan gaming thread. An internet culture where insults and inhumanity are not only allowed but encouraged.

I’ve just learned about the passing of Rob Wieland.

I never interacted with him beyond a professional level, but he was always courteous and dedicated to spreading the love of gaming with the world.

May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.

I think we’ve been trained, as a culture, to only mention what we dislike about something. Often with anger or ridicule. We don’t mention what we do like about that same thing, which leaves creators with an overwhelming impression that even their loved creations are unworthy and hated.

I enjoyed Saints Row (2022). It had rough edges and didn’t do enough character building, but I respected and liked how much they tried to do something new while still following in the wacky SR tradition.

Putting out a new game, with a new world, is always a risk. Even for an established company. Please show us there is still room for something new and something unlicensed. I promise, this is an amazing game. It handles stealth and assassination smoother than anything I’ve ever played.
