Scanners is a good movie but its lesser Cronenberg
Cool effects, great direction of tension and paranóia, Ironside is amazing, Cronenberg X-Men
But I think doesnt go beyond the cool concept, doesnt have the same bite his other movies have

Even sadder that Netflix rejected the sequel pitch David had

Is it the direction? Prestige Horrortoo self serious? The Brood, Scanners, Shivers etc are all pretty schlocky
But Nah, thats not it. I like how Longlegs LOOKS, for example
Do they not have much to say beyond concept?

The thing with Bakshi Lord of the Rings is that is a well directed movie with good animation and all

as an attempt to make myself Misérable, im drawing 12 characters in a single page
Nothing crazy with the perspective tho, just a line up, which helps
But the quantity, posing and designs will certainly be a challenge
I want to work more on these characters and try to convey their personality

I have to watch more still, but I do think From Rússia With Love and Goldfinger were great in regards to action
And ofc, even movies I love like Majesty also have action scenes that feel a little off
Idk what about Live&LetDie set me off in particular, I still consider a solid 3/5 tho

I think my problem with this movie always comes down to the action and stunts, they feel like they go on for 2min too long
I like all the things being thrown on here, but the direction always make me not love it as much
