It has always, and always will, take effort and energy to have faith in humanity. Some do the work, others do not. Also, fwiw, AI does *not* do the work.

@nytimes.com when everything is breaking news, breaking news is no longer breaking, it's just news.

And it felt downright refreshing to be around a completely new (to me) community of people who care deeply about education.

I am downright lifted and energized after a few days of @humanrestorationproject.orgs Conference to Restore Humanity. I am not overstating when I say it has lifted me out of a funk of despair. Thank you (though I was nervous about the Medieval themes, I am so glad I got past my nerves)!

At this point it's probably obvious to state that conferences cannot do the same things they used to. I have grown weary of loads of solo keynotes with no conversations. I crave Q&As, robust panels, wicked awesome moderators, and breakout rooms (hybrid to be assumed).

What a wonderful panel. Listening to this crew is definitely helping restore something in me-- dare I say hope?

I worry the good, lighthearted edges of the Internet are getting lost to history. Good on ya teaching your kiddo how cool we used to be LOL

@monaeltahawy.bsky.social is the voice of reason lately, er... evermore!
This is your regular reminder: patriarchy is not men. Patriarchy is a system of oppressions that privileges male dominance and some women benefit from it.

Feminism is not women or anything a woman does just because she's a woman. Feminism is the destruction of patriarchy.

Feminism is liberation.
