Ok so we now know Stearns just made it all up as he went this offseason. “Run prevention” does not equate to Baty and Bichette and Polanco all playing new positions.
Having said that, I kinda like the lineup:

Ok so we now know Stearns just made it all up as he went this offseason. “Run prevention” does not equate to Baty and Bichette and Polanco all playing new positions.

Just to be clear, #Mets didn’t sign the right-handed slugging first baseman who is relatively affordable because???? We don’t want the expensive version, we don’t want the affordable version. We want the Polanco/never played the position version?

It’s now 2026 and we still lack a LF, a CF, a LB, an ace, and a 7th inning arm. We have gone from Alonso-Nimmo-McNeil-Diaz to Semien-Weaver-Williams.
I want to believe Stearns has an actual plan this offseason besides dropping long-time vets. But little evidence exists.

I now am reduced as a #Mets fan to rooting for them to sign Cody Bellinger to play left field. Sigh. I was promised jet packs and all I got was social media.

Reading all the reactions to the #Nimmo #Mets trade. Lots of different ideas for what fans want the team to do. Which I think is why the trade overall is good: Opens lots more paths for them to compete. Can sign Tucker and a cheap defender at 1b or can sign Pete and a cheat corner OF or ….

Marte is obviously gone. Winker and Taylor won’t be re-signed.
McNeil should be traded but can we even get a decent 6th inning reliever for him unless we pay most of his salary?
Questions are around Vientos and Alonso.
