This is my favourite genre of skeets. Someone shares a joke or benign comment and then someone else comes out of leftfield with the most wild and hyperbolic take on it.
It's really telling that the only ones about the feds discussing the notwithstanding clause are conservative govts who, in recent years, have used to for racism, bullying trans kids and illegally breaking strikes.
Props to Kinew for ensuring any future MB govt's will have a tougher time using it.
And yet s.107 was just used again against CUPW. If unions can't strike then labour loses its power. Liberals have proven they don't give a shit about workers.
I, for one, am glad to see Ashton in the running because workers need a real voice. Not platitudes and someone cosplaying as blue-collar.
And that's exactly what he's doing. Talking about how workers built this country and have been repeatedly left behind by Conservative and Liberal governments.
The day after my 1st communion, in my small Nova Scotian town that is still about 80% Scottish Catholic, we wore our little wooden crosses playing soccer at recess.
And not long into the game we started chasing the few Protestants around the field holding the crosses out as if exorcising demons.
I know it's not worth the mental effort to try to decipher the thought process on this nonsense, but.. why autism? Why does everything cause autism? And why is autism being framed as if it's the black plague?
I think the "nobody took them seriously" comment is more directed at why the heck did they have to start a fundraiser to go to compete if they're 2nd in the world?
Why isn't our govt supporting this? Especially given how often men's teams in sports we're mediocre at have funding.
