The Creative Resilience Lab will be so fun-!!! We will be gathering and world and future building in the context of disaster, abolition, preparedness and revolutionary and systems change. Part of a larger gathering on #abolition at the university in April!

Ware
is a Vanier Scholar, visual artist, activist, curator, and educator.
Using painting, installation, and performance, Syrus works with and explores social justice frameworks and Black activist culture.
Syrus will be co-leading sessions focused on disability justice, abolition and speculative futures within a climate emergency, disaster and collapse context.

Katia Tynan
is a leader and relationship-builder who currently leads the Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction team at the City of Vancouver.
Katia will be co-leading sessions focused on connecting policy with community-based solutions for climate adaptation.

Dawn
Weleski
co-founded Conflict
Kitchen, a take-out restaurant serving cuisine from countries in conflict with the U.S.
Their art practice tests cultural norms, transforming protests and public offices into social stages.
Dawn will be co-leading sessions focused on mutual aid, speculative futuring, and creative methods for working with equity-denied communities and transgressive learners.
