Pots in parks, Calgary, Alberta. Fingers crossed for my next batch of park bound pots-I dropped them off for glaze firing yesterday and I have a lot riding on this batch. First market in 5 years is in less than two weeks 😅

In the studio making more of these today. I love Plainsman M340s because of the warm speckles and how the colour of the clay makes the glazes appear more earthy

Working on teapots in the studio this week. I had to make a clay compromise, switching from a shorter, groggier clay that lends itself to beautiful crackle texture, to one more plastic and easier to assemble. Less texture, but a more refined end result.

I’ve been revisiting my all time favourite process in the studio recently. I use objects found in nature to recreate the landscapes I collected them from. I developed this method while living in Banff, where I spent four years mostly either making pots, or climbing mountains. What a life that was!
