Oct 13th marks Indigenous Peoples’ Day. VA is home to 7 federally recognized tribes. Take a moment of observance for the rich tradition and environmental guardianship inherent in these communities. I will always appreciate their commitment to culture and understand that history wasn’t all painless.

Richmond Times-Dispatch published my OpEd calling out Virginia AG, Jason Miyares who claims to support domestic violence victims. In contrast, he does not protect them. Miyares talks a good game. Words are cheap. Look at his actions.
Virginians, choose your Attorney General wisely.
Commentary: When victims become criminals: AG's betrayal of Katie Orndoff
Current Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares regularly claims that he protects crime victims. But when Katie Orndoff — a domestic violence victim — needed him most, he failed her. Worse, he…

Enjoyed speaking with our neighbors at Shouse Village, along with Delegate Sullivan and Supervisor Bierman. Grateful for this group of thoughtful and engaged community members who shared their concerns ranging from transportation, and reproductive freedom to objections to the casino legislation.

Grateful that Illinois Governor @govpritzker.illinois.gov joined to support VA's fight for reproductive freedom, helping raise money to hold Democratic majority, to pick up new seats. I was delighted to introduce him at the "Roe Your Vote Virginia" event in McLean.

A few days ago, I participated in Food & Resource with Cornerstones, Feed the Children, and Popeyes Foundation. September recognizes Hunger Action month. We know many of our neighbors are facing food insecurity. Thanks to the volunteers and staff who are doing such meaningful work in the society!

Federal government is in shutdown. It is not accidental. It's a deliberate strategy to take resources away from working families to give to the wealthy.
Republicans would rather shut down government than provide for Americans who desperately need access to affordable healthcare.

Wishing for an easy fast and a day of deep reflection and purpose, this Yom Kippur, for those observing this holiday.

I was delighted to celebrate the opening of Fuse at Mason Square, with President Gregory Washington. Another example of his strong leadership, making GMU one of Virginia's finest universities.

Recently, along with Delegate Reid and Senator Srinivasan, I presented General Assembly commendations to recipients to honor their contributions to community. Gratitude for those who are no longer with us. There are many who work, give time, and care for others. It was a pleasure to celebrate them!

Charlie Kirk was just killed at a Utah event. Although I disagreed with him on policies, as a fellow human being, I grieve for him. This is yet another episode of senseless gun violence. Terribly saddened for his family and the community. Gun violence is never the solution. buff.ly/VlD5sda

My heart breaks for all of children, their families, teachers, the Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Gun violence kills children in greater numbers. Once again, it caused pain that we will never fully recover from. My heart mourns for all suffering. It’s too much.

Women’s Equality Day celebrates the passage of the 19th Amendment where all women have the right to vote and to fully participate in society. I can’t believe that those rights are now being challenged. Not on our watch!
