Hi! I'm Jenivere, Jen for short.
You can find most of my art on www.deviantart.com/jenivere-dom... and I'll start sharing pieces here soon too!
I also cosplay and indulge in a number of other hobbies <3

I'm disabled with chronic illnesses so I try to stay creative when I can :)
If I have time to print these for #MCMLondon there will be stickers - but what colour should they be? I could do 2 colours for "I resisted" and 2 colours for "I embraced" but they probably all want to be paler colours. Any opinions? They should be on holo paper 💖

Many hours of babysitting the embroidery machine along with some errors, fails, file issues, and one huge tangle that had me terrified...the crossbelt details are embroidered onto the pieces, almost ready to assemble!

I don't want to do this ever again it was agonising.

Jenivere, video game cosplayer 💖
So number 2 for me!
I like picking the more niche characters to represent, which also sometimes means making new and different versions of things - currently making a ballgown version of The Dark Urge from BG3 for MCM London

These are so sweet! Gorgeous photos and great work from you both ✨️ always so much fun to cosplay together and have those photos as wonderful memories to treasure too 💖
More progress for #BG3DarkUrge Bhaalgown - it's looking more like a dress than a pile of cloth now but still so much to go - currently hand stitching the lining to the shoulders.

Finally. Got the chest piece embroidery pattern to work, and it's done after half a day of watching it and changing threads and snipping excess and aligning *4 times*

The shoulders and hips are also nearly done, so the dress might be ready to assemble tomorrow

The next time I confidently say "I'm going to make [character] as a ballgown" I need one of you to sedate me - I'm fighting this with so little time left to pull it together and the instructions on this patter for the pleating on the skirt is going to drive me well past the edge of madness 😅🙃🙀
It's coming together, but needs 5-7 days to fully set before I work on the back then sanding and painting it up.

What do you think so far? Does the Urge boil in your blood?...

If anyone knows how to work with a Janome MemoryCraft 350e and JEF files, I would *really* appreciate some help as I'm struggling with the machine and running shorter and shorter on time to get it working

The head piece. It begins.

...it was the only pencil I could find easily so let's not judge that it was from last December lol

Anyway. Let's see how this goes. I need more fabric for the dress so I can't sew it yet.
It messed up a bit by the end so I'm going to get my machine looked at before I do the final one that'll be on the dress but... Stillmaker looks alright. I need to change just 1 or 2 things to the embroidery file, and I think this might be almost ready to succeed...

It takes ~3 hours on the machine

Playing some #Hades2 so I can literally Kill Time whilst keeping an eye on the embroidery machine for my BG3 cosplay.

Like most well adjusted people would do whilst suffering a huge pain flare on a Sunday night less than a month before a convention...
...so many times yet here we are just not able to get the files to load to even test them.

It took hours just to go through every inch of the pattern here to put the right type of embroidery fill onto each individual shape making the full design. Not counting the time to draw the damn thing too...
The embroidery struggles continue...Nailed it with the test piece for the skirt border, but the more complex pieces are still testing the limits of creative masochism 😭

I honestly still can't work out why the machine won't recognise the more complex files. I've checked all the limits and parameters
Another day, another failed embroidery design...

Going to try again at the weekend, I have another idea that might help which is essentially "make it bigger" but I fear I'm also likely making silly mistakes in the settings like with the fine tuning of row spacing etc

It'd almost be faster by hand😅
Alright, I have the base pattern, the fabrics, and all the other materials so this is the plan to turn this dress pattern into a more Durge style Bhaalgown

Current task - work out the dagger embroidery patterns before I even think about cutting out the pattern pieces.

Exciting!

I don't blame you! But at least you have some nice ears to show for it!
It's painful to have sat there with it so long seeing it start to go wrong but needing to sit through more of it to know what I need to change

It's a tough thing because I have to convert the images into pathways that the machine recognises and make sure the settings leave no gaps or errors
