Seattle-based. Interested in housing. Really more of a reply guy than a poster, but the good kind of reply guy.

Thanks for sharing the data! That is almost exactly what I was wondering whether someone had the stats to show!
Did you mean to say she outgained him by 17k between primary night and final primary tally? Seems to match the graph.
Oh dang. Jumping to conclusions
Scratch that! The Eastside rejected the right-leaning NIMBY slate.

The Seattle Mayor's race is too close to call. Lots of ballots remain to be counted. But there is plenty of good news for progressive candidates all around the region from tonight's results.
Matt Yglesias backed Garcia
The Eastside suburbs might be poised for a swing toward hard right Nimbyism. They've had surprisingly decent Yimby political leaders for a while (though swimming against the currents of much worse land use rules set in place in the 70s).
But that will leave us with divided government: a fragile, disorganized, loosely centrist-NIMBY majority on city council, vs a mayor and large minority in the progressive-YIMBY lane.
My hot take: Katie Wilson will cruise to victory thanks in part to the reliable anti-incumbency tilt of the electorate (no mayor has been reëlected since Greg Nickels in 2005).

We've also swung back and forth between lefty and centrist city councils. The lefty at large candidates will win too.
This made me throw up a little.
And on point 2, I think 8 months of national media frenzy focusing on the NYC mayoral election will make voters all around the country think Dems are leftwing socialist nutjobs.
1. Maybe Mamdani is strategically exploiting the recent shift where low-propensity voters are actually more right-leaning.

2. Selfishly, I'm sick of seeing so much commentary about the NYC mayoral election. Much more, in fact, than I've seen about Seattle's election today.
A minor hobbyhorse of mine: I wish newspapers would stop illustrating stories about vaccines with pictures of needles, especially needles in arms. It makes people uncomfortable, and reinforces the instinctive reasons many people are anti-vax!
And... Don't forget sunscreen!
Wow. Congrats!

I will also tally this as a win for @economeager.bsky.social even if they seem to have moved roughly to Australia's antipodes.
This is something I'd be terrible at, tbh.

In my halfhearted defense, at one point not long ago I comparison-shopped pretty carefully, concluded that Costco has the cheapest option for several staples including eggs, half and half, and shredded cheese, then stopped paying attention to their prices.
Wait so adult Catholic converts who were already married... Do they have a renewal of vows / do-over in a church? Just carry on living a sham?
Lol he's so much closer to the bag than the runner on 2nd. Oof.
God such pain. So many little moments like this where all it would have taken was just the most likely thing happening but instead the Jays fucked it up or fate fucked them over.
The double play got me wondering about a possible new rule: What if taking a walk was optional? Like what if the batter could just say "nah I'll head back to the dugout, you've got to figure out some other way to deal with the runner on 3rd and the next batter."
I was rooting hard for the Blue Jays after they took out our Mariners. The only two silver linings to this ending: the Blue Jays took that shot to the heart instead of us. And it's nice to see them feel how we felt blowing a late lead in a game 7.
I was hoping there'd be some terms like that. Hopefully they'll replace them but still so wasteful.
Have you taken a look at the street trees planted along the new E. Marginal Way road rebuild and bike lane? I watched them get planted... Very carelessly. And now predictably like 40% are dying 😔
