Just me.
Guzzi riding old bloke, a bit bewildered
Conflicted with depression & social anxiety, trying to be a better man. I'll persist.
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Suitably seasonal, meanwhile, over the Atlantic, we're having a very mild but wet spell.
Depends on where the jetstream takes it whether we get a cold spell or not.

A little more plumbing to attend to, a proper bracket to make then hopefully it'll get a test ride, however the weather is bloody awful currently, also my right hip still isn't working properly, so I'll bide my time.

Do anyone else's dreams sometimes have a soundtrack?
Or just me?

Which tyres? The AX41S's? Or different?
December 13, 2025 at 7:42 PM
That sounds good to me 👍😁

Superb road 👍

Very similar to lebkuchen 👌

Finally... If you can find a nice gammon leg or piece (no idea what it's called in the US, cured pork?) you can make a Juleskinke, or Yule ham. A lovely baked joint of cured pork leg, preferably with crisp fat layer, seasoning and a glaze depending on your tastes. Served hot or cold in slices.

If you can find it and don't dislike marzipan, German stollen is lovely, but far too easy to eat too much - it's also packed with calories 😁
Lebkuchen (a ginger biscuit with spices) is also lovely, particularly with good coffee or glühwein.

Lingonberries are tart, Cloudberries less so, both really good on a plate of boiled potatoes, pork/beef meatballs (kötbullar) and some vegetable like kale or pickled red cabbage, also a creamy brown gravy (not the southern US white sauce!)

Ohhh, mince pies need to be slightly warmed (not hot) and a spoon of brandy cream or brandy butter dolloped on top.
Exquisite. 😋
December 12, 2025 at 9:26 PM
Oh, and it needed 2, one for each pot. Costly...

Steady...

Seriously, I 1988 they were £90/ea.
Ducati Elletrotecnica, nothing else would do as the advance curve was incorporated, like most CDI units.
72° V Twin too, so no easy coil and points fix.
Painful.
That's why I got rid of mine, otherwise it was gorgeous.
Boyer Bransden now do a kit for them.

I'll tidy the installation now the proof of concept has succeeded. Rather loathe to bury it in the gap between the heads again though.

Also, the new ones probably won't shit the ignition transducers (coil packs) as regularly as shells being lobbed over no-mans land during the opening festivities at the Somme...

I'll await the real world testing of the new beasty.
The old one was superb on A & B roads, less so on motorways, where a decent one (Sport or Strada) topped out at about 95mph, so you were using most of its revs/capability, but it wasn't meant for motorways, so...

👋 I can see your replies...

Same. I did consider reverting to pillar points (with a Boyer Bransden kit for electronics) and trying to find a pair of Dell'Ortos then jetting them for the 1064 lump. Lot of chew on though.
That said, the induction roar from a pair of Dells with accellerator pumps... 🤤

Must be spares support for minimum of 10yrs after model is discontinued as I understand it, then there's NOS supply, where possible.
I also just received a pair of footpegs from China via Temu (1st time using them) they're identical to the Yamaha ones, casting marks the lot. Fraction of the cost.

Bit of plumbing required, however, the beast is awake! 🤘
December 12, 2025 at 3:53 PM
Thought they changed in 97... Must be close on crossover year to the EV 👍
December 12, 2025 at 1:36 PM
Workshop currently... Diverse. 😉
December 12, 2025 at 1:31 PM
Yep. Yours also has the pump and filter inside the tank.
This runs on car parts (large and vastly overkill, 1st gen after the carb models).
Pump is same unit as BMW 3&5 series, filter from Fiat/Alfa.
