Well into adulthood, my mate thought that tuna was the name for dolphin meat (like beef is cow meat & venison is deer meat) and that “dolphin friendly” on tins of tuna was the equivalent of free range on boxes of eggs

Why do people always assume we would adopt a US style system if we got rid of the monarchy? There’s plenty of other examples of other systems of elected heads of state which work perfectly well that we could adopt - eg Ireland, Germany, Finland etc

Even better to have an elected head of state that is separate from the political leadership - versions of this work perfectly well in Ireland, Germany, Finland etc.

There really is no justification for an hereditary head of state

When she was a small child, my daughter used to speak in an American accent when she played with her Barbies….
… this year she graduated with a degree in English Language and Linguistics and is now training to be an English teacher, so 🤷🏻‍♂️

I always look at the letters and try and guess how many points I need for Genius. Today I looked and saw the J and guessed about 150. To then see it was 234 was very dispiriting.

I would argue that basketball is more similar to the NFL than it is to baseball - very few Latino stars in basketball or NFL (with a few notable exceptions in the NFL) but lots of the greatest players of the past 60 years in both sports have been/are African-American.
