in the meantime here's a project i'm working on now that i'm out of the proof of concept stage. in theory the figure is a rat. i will have to take a second pass at it most likely but i think i like the expression

something's weird about the scan. either my scanner quality isn't great (plausible) or the way i blended the grey tones doesn't agree well with my equipment (also plausible).
tomorrow after work i'll try it at staples and see which is which.
