Watching movies in 2025 like it's 1995, part sixteen -- forgot this was by Carpenter! Loved seeing Reeve in it, and sure, it's really silly, but it doesn't try to be anything other than fun and silly, and I enjoyed it for that. Creepy kids gonna be creepy! letterboxd.com/jeansnow/fil...

Ash starts out pretty slow, and I was feeling like I might just enjoy it on a visual level, but then things get pretty interesting, story-wise, and I dug it (and its The Thing-like horror elements). Cool movie. letterboxd.com/jeansnow/fil...

Went into Best Wishes to All knowing nothing about it, and came out very satisfied. Great piece of J-horror, fits nicely in the genre, and a really great first showing for its director. boxd.it/blgB3P

I didn’t hate Him, and there’s a lot to like on a visual level, but it never seems to know what it wants to be (between what’s real and not), which made the climax unsatisfying. boxd.it/blglox

Although I didn’t like Saulnier’s Murder Party, Green Room was great, and felt more similar in vibe to Rebel Ridge (if more horror-like). I felt the climax was a bit anticlimactic, but I still quite liked it overall. boxd.it/blfXHZ

This G.I. Joe one-shot was way too fun — it commemorates the 40th anniversary of the infamous episode of the animated series in which Destro gets Zartan and the Dreadnoks to perform as a rock band.

The first issue of DC K.O. was great!

The one thing I find quite annoying with Shudder (on Apple TV) is that I can't seem to turn off the subtitles, even though the option to do so is there. Is it some sort of bug? I find it quite distracting to watch movies when I know the language and the sub language.

Watching movies in 2025 like it's 1995, part fifteen -- I don't think it's a particularly good film, and might even have made a better episode than a full movie, but I still had fun re-watching it. letterboxd.com/jeansnow/fil...

After falling head over heals in love with Let the Corpses Bronze, I followed it up with Cattet and Forzani's Amer, their first film. Wow. It's not for everyone, and feels in fact quite experimental, but I LOVED the mood and vibe, and the giallo of it all. Terrific. letterboxd.com/jeansnow/fil...

Ever since Rebel Ridge I've been meaning to watch Saulnier's earlier films, and finally got around to Murder Party, which I believe is his first film. Unfortunately, I really didn't like it -- from the performances, to finding none of it funny (it's a horror-comedy). letterboxd.com/jeansnow/fil...
