Farewell to my mom, Virginia Church, who somehow made it to 95 despite having had polio and various health problems all her life (we used to joke her headstone would say, SEE? I TOLD YOU I WAS SICK!)

I am glad you are free now.

This is charming!
I'm drawing every day but mostly for projects that are in progress so I'll probably use this year's #ArtAdventCalendar event to look back at my favorite drawings I did this year, starting with this one! I had the idea of the outline of a white cat against a garden and it slowly evolved into this.

OMG - A Wrinkle in Time was an earthquake for me!
Reconnected with the former town librarian who's now no longer in the town, and OMG, remembered his mom was the teacher who introduced me to A Wrinkle In Time and I just sent a follow-up email that was kind of hard to see because someone is obviously raising dust or cutting onions right next to me

When I was a kid in a tiny Colorado mountain town, this was served at the outdoor Holiday gathering. We used oranges, but same-same.
In case you’re still unfamiliar, let me introduce you to my family’s favorite holiday drink, which goes viral every few years — and which Food & Wine Editorial Director Dylan Garret has called “absolutely delicious, full stop.”

They made fresh enemies.

Enjoy!
Would love to ask the folks who lined up before dawn at Target for a swag bag “filled” with goodies and walked out with a reusable grocery bag and a pack of Uno cards, “how does it feel to get played?”

I honestly do not know why anyone is still loyal to that store. This is hilarious though 😂

The next president will have to make null and void EVERY decision/law/order tRump made, then change the laws so that this nonsense can never happen again.

The presidency will have to be the most regulated post in the government after this.

2nd place: SCOTUS
"[Felon] has repeatedly alleged that Biden was addled by the end of his term in office & not the one making decisions" - this coming from an AH who can barely give a coherent response when he's not in a 'handled' situation is rich.

Where are the hackers?

I keep saying this.

The Epstein files should be hacked and sent out to the world.

The Witkoff files, the okey-doke convo b2n tRump and MBS, the Epstein money trail, the Hegseth (& Seal Team 6) bombing orders, and on and on

Where are the HACKERS?
The Trump administration is using the White House website to target journalists and outlets for coverage they don’t like.

The White House and the WH Press Secretary also use official government X accounts to direct people to the page in order to incite harassment.

Amazon is currently advertising that workers make $23/hr.

Clearly, that is a lie.

Walmart is advertising that working for them leads to executive level jobs.

Clearly, that is a lie.
From the Boston Globe: companies that pay such low wages that many employees (and many full-time!) who still need SNAP just to get by.

#1: Amazon. Raking in BILLIONS but has full-time employees who make so little they need food stamps.

One of the most remarkable writers of the age.

My mother-in-law, a Shakespearean scholar, met him just before "Shakespeare in Love" came out and demanded to be reassured he did not write Shakespeare disrespectfully.

"Madam," he said gravely, "I would NEVER."

Tom Stoppard -- the master of the modern English play, author of astonishing works like "Arcadia" and "The Real Thing" -- has died at the age of 88.

In 2020, I profiled Stoppard ahead of the debut of what may have been his most personal work, the one that cut closest to the bone, "Leopoldstadt."
Tom Stoppard: Unfinished Business
A master of the English language who was not born into it, Stoppard exhibits an arresting verbal dexterity, a mix of joy, wit and wordplay.
