AI systems have gotten smarter, they no longer need to be told basic information. AI Companies are now desperately seeking expert data, which necessarily comes from people with PhD‘s who won’t put up with poverty.

Be encouraged that the public, courts, and even some GOP governors have begun to reject Trump’s authoritarian push to militarize our streets. This may be part of lower court judges’ brewing revolt against “the Supreme Court’s flurry of brief, opaque emergency orders” that have empowered Trump.)

Trump’s overall approval has dropped to 40%. Only 37% say the national guard should be deployed despite the governor’s objection.

A strong majority of Americans do not approve of deploying military troops at home. “Some 58% of Americans—including seven in 10 Democrats and half of Republicans—think the president should send armed troops only to face external threats,” according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Trump & Miller have bitten off more than they can chew. Their invasion of American cities is based on obvious lies (e.g., “war ravaged Portland”), has antagonized voters, outraged judges, & triggered public opposition from two GOP governors—a rare act of defiance that may trigger more defections.

There is absolutely zero chance that a man who took $50,000 in cash in a paper bag from an FBI agent on camera would have been appointed to any position by any other president.

This is a fact. Hamas butchered Israelis and then fled back home with hostages in tow and hid behind their own people. That’s the truth. Hamas is responsible for everything that’s happened in Gaza.

The U.S. government has the authority to suspend an arms package any time before delivery. Biden needs to get tough with Netanyahu. We can and must do everything in our power to stop the carnage in Gaza. Netanyahu: “The worst leader in Israel's history.

Netanyahu is a war criminal. And he certainly has no regard for US law, which is explicitly designed to prevent US weapons from facilitating human rights abuses. His invitation should be revoked. It should’ve never been sent in the 1st place.

Once she is sworn in, Democrats and Republicans will have sufficient votes to work together to pass the discharge petition that would compel DOJ to release all unclassified records related to Jeffrey Epstein.
jcbrown.bsky.social
Are Republicans really that frightened of a vote to release the Epstein files? Once the House goes back into session, Johnson will be out of excuses to refuse to swear in duly elected new Democratic member, Adelita Grijalva of Arizona, who won a special election to replace her late father.

On Friday, House Speaker Mike Johnson announced that the House will remain in recess next week. They have not been in session since September 19. This means the shutdown, barring something unexpected, will go on at least until the week of October 20th.

Jimmy Kimmel and Marjorie Taylor Greene are right. If the health care tax credits expire, health insurance premiums will double for millions of Americans. Republicans need to come to the table to end the shutdown and protect Americans’ health care.”
jcbrown.bsky.social
Republicans refuse to find a fix that will keep healthcare premiums from skyrocketing beyond affordability for many Americans. To make the privilege line even clearer, Trump got his COVID-19 and flu vaccinations last week. The rest of us may not be as lucky.

They are “Article II” judges, appointed by the president, and not a part of the Article III branch of independent federal judges established by the Constitution. Trump has taken the view he is free to fire them at will.

Since Trump has returned to office, 139 immigration judges have been fired, taken an early-out offer, or been involuntarily transferred. That’s out of about 600 immigration judges nationwide.

"Forty-two judges went so far as to say that the Supreme Court’s emergency orders had caused 'some' or 'major' harm to the public’s perception of the judiciary[,] [including] nearly half of the Republican-nominated judges."

Democrats must stay on message with the shutdown undisciplined messaging has hindered their impact in the past — and how the ongoing shutdown offers an opportunity to realign and strengthen their communication strategy. “The responsibility for the healthcare catastrophe is clear.”
jcbrown.bsky.social
Schumer, Jeffries and national Democrats are winning the shutdown messaging war by making clear that their votes were not available to strip health care from millions of Americans or make it prohibitively expensive. Success has now become evident—recognized in polls in Republican disarray.

No wonder Trump is at historic lows in popularity. The results at the polls this year have been similarly devastating. Democrats have won or outperformed in 42 of 43 elections this year. That is a reflection, in part, on Trump’s unpopularity–and augurs ill for the future for Trump’s party.
jcbrown.bsky.social
A majority of the American people do not like the prosecution of Trump’s adversaries, his deployment of the National Guard, his aggressive immigration processes, his role in shutting down the government to tear health care from millions and the rest of the chaos.
jcbrown.bsky.social
They include improperly pushing his cronies to bring criminal prosecutions of his perceived enemies and deploying the National Guard and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to crack down on peaceful protest–also wrongly.
