So if YOU'RE designing AI tools for learners, consider:
✅Personality tone (warm vs competent)
✅Role of feedback (reflective vs directive)✅Autonomy (let students choose)
A chatbot's emotional tone isn't superficial - it shapes how students learn

bera-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1...
What worked best? 🤔

A balance.

Avatars that combined warmth & competence were rated highest in trust and perceived learning support.

Students want both: to feel heard & to be guided.

@atsmeded.bsky.social @atsearlycareer.bsky.social @harvardmed.bsky.social
Students don’t just want correct answers - they want support that matches the moment.

→ Use warmth for emotional safety & reflective learning
→ Use competence for focused, goal-driven tasks

Design matters in AI-mediated education. #InstructionalDesign #MedEd @HMSPostgradCE
How #AI chatbots PRESENT themselves matters. In a study of med students using avatars designed for either warmth or competence, learners responded differently:

-Warm avatars fostered reflection and engagement
-Competent avatars supported task performance

You can’t do it all. . . and you *shouldn’t*. Great mentors know when to refer, connect, & collaborate. Encourage mentees to build a network (not rely on one person). And don’t forget: YOU still need mentors, too.

Nested mentoring strengthens YOU. . . and the whole system.
Effective mentorship begins with clarity:

→ Set expectations early
→ Invite mentee input
→ Co-create goals

A strong mentoring alliance is built on trust, shared values, & honest communication. There’s no “I” in mentor.

#FacultyDevelopment #MedicalEducation #MedEd @atsmeded.bsky.social
Your past mentoring experiences - good & bad - are tools. Reflect: What worked? What didn’t? What did you need as a mentee? Transitions (like becoming a mentor) are ideal moments to pause, learn, & reshape your professional identity with intention.

@harvardmed.bsky.social
Early career MDs often feel unprepared but peer & near-peer mentorship is powerful. Shared experiences foster trust, collaboration, & psychological safety - for both mentor & mentee. Say "yes" (authentically) to mentorship opportunities to grow into the role.

#MedEd
Intimidated by BEING a mentor? You’re not alone. Mentorship skills aren't taught during #medschool or residency, & it seems like it's expected you'll just "know what to do" as an early career MD / healthcare professional faculty - which is wrong. A about brief 🧵 #mentorship 👇
Fascinating to see that nih.gov was one of the top 10 sites (#8) of traffic driven by #AI #chatbot prompts. This demonstrates how much traffic sites get from ChatGPT, Perplexity, & other AI platforms, as opposed to search engines.

🌿 Mechanisms likely include:

Moderate physical activity

Mindfulness & attentional restoration

Social interaction

Increased consumption of home-grown produce

Gardening may support both physical and emotional well-being through multiple pathways.

#wellness #signapore #review
🧠🫀 The findings align with larger studies:

Gardening has been tied to improved mental health, chronic disease outcomes, and cardiovascular health.

Even during lockdowns, time spent gardening correlated with mental resilience.

@govsingapore.bsky.social #gardening
📍 In a door-to-door survey of 386 residents:

Daily gardeners had 43% lower odds of anxiety, health limitations, or both.

Among adults aged ≥53, daily gardening was linked to a 59% lower risk of health limitations.

Benefits were age-dependent.

🌱A recent cross-sectional study from #Singapore adds to a growing body of evidence: daily #gardening is linked to lower odds of anxiety & physical health limitations, particularly in older adults. A 🧵 for clinicians & #meded educators interested in lifestyle and preventive health. ⬇️
