NUFC. Music. Art. Probably in that order.
Wish we could get rid of VAR.

It was brought in to address clearly wrong decisions but what is has delivered is confusion about what a correct decision is.

The bias towards the sky six hasn’t stopped. All it has done is disrupt the flow of the game and stifle the joy of a goal.

Pile of shit.

It was obvious which way VAR were leaning when they spent seven days reviewing Woltemade’s first goal.

They didn’t even review James’ ‘wonder’ tackle to check if he had actually got the ball, which he hadn’t. Just assumed he had because of the colour of his shirt.

Ramming into an opponent at high speed whilst making no attempt to get the ball ✅

Pulling back an opponent clean through on goal ✅

Handling the ball in your own box preventing a goal scoring opportunity ✅

The PGMOL change what is / is not a foul every week to suit their bias.

#NUFC
Ref was very strange tonight.

This trend of match officials just making it up as they go along needs to be given more attention by the media

Still haven’t seen a repeat of a foul being given for an attacking player being too close to the wall at a free kick (Eze’s disallowed goal for CPFC)

Frustrating day / season but important to remember changing managers doesn’t guarantee a change of fortune.

Indeed it can make things worse and I suspect a few of our better players would see Howe’s departure as a reason to move on.

There is always of talk of tactics, formations and player selection, but sometimes none of that matters and a team just needs the rub of the green.

Kind of where #NUFC are - just need a few games where the ball breaks a bit more favourably, shots sneak in instead of hitting the post etc.

Foul on Dan Burn for the pen - harsh by current standards but 100% the correct decision.

Corners in the PL have become a tedious and time consuming farce.

Bottom line?

Ballsak messed up our summer transfer window and fucked up our start to the season.

Then Wissa’s injury forced a change of playing style and deprived the team of a cutting edge.

The team has lost a bit of confidence and there’s not much we can do about it until January.

Fair few injury time goals #NUFC have conceded this season.

Kind of thing that starts messing with the players heads and becomes self fulfilling.

May as well dump the shutting up shop thing. It’s not working, heaping pressure on the team and painful to watch.
December 2, 2025 at 10:27 PM
I’m firmly in the happy clapping camp, but the amount of times we have given the ball away cheaply this season is doing my head in.

A lot of our passing has been Sunday league standard.

Probably a confidence thing.

Lost count of how many crap passes NUFC have made in this game.

The mid block holding a shape thing isn’t sustainable either.
November 29, 2025 at 6:55 PM
Our great run of results last season coincided with Dubs being in goal.

Hard to make a clear connection between the two, but can’t rule out the better distribution from the back being an important factor in our good form either.

All things considered, probably time to bring Ramsdale in.

With SSR being based on revenue over a season not losses over three, are clubs going to max out their losses to stock pile players before SSR comes in.

Or more importantly, should #NUFC spend every penny they can under PSR in this winter’s transfer window?
November 23, 2025 at 8:36 AM
This is why certain teams get more favourable decisions over a season.

Wouldn’t be this much fuss (or any) if this decision had gone against most teams - the media obsessively going on about it puts pressure on refs.

Liverpool's disallowed goal at Manchester City causes split in Premier League KMI Panel
The Premier League's KMI Panel votes 3-2 both that Liverpool's goal should have stood on-field, but didn't reach the VAR threshold.

Two months on and I’m still not sure about Woltemade. He’s got some nice touches but seems to play in slow motion.

Comes across as a good lad and has something unique to offer, hopefully Howe finds a way to bring the best out of him.
Well that is going to be huge problem because Woltemade is slow, weak, poor in the air, shirks challenges and is going to give the ball away cheaply a lot playing as a sole central striker.

The crowd will be on his back in no time.

If you are right, he was clearly a panic buy.

Was Villa our best (least worse) away performance in the PL this season?

If so, what did we do right in that game and what has changed since?

Going to be lots of finger pointing after today’s result, but there was always a chance #NUFC would struggle when Wissa got injured.

Without a centre forward who can run in behind attacking options become predictable, play gets condensed and the whole team comes under increased pressure.
Teams that can’t score goals always find themselves in and around the relegation zone.

bsky.app/profile/jazz...
We don’t know if he would refuse to play - he might, he might not. My guess is not playing for a whole season would do his head in.

If NW picks up a lengthy injury and we have no other striker NUFC will be in a relegation battle.

A might is far preferable to a can’t because they don’t exist.
November 9, 2025 at 4:06 PM
28 premier league games to go.

First choice fullbacks close to a return.

Would expect Wissa to be available not long after the impending international break.

Few of our players can only get better and probably will.

#NUFC need to improve but it may be a tad early for predicting Armageddon.
November 8, 2025 at 8:50 PM
Woltemade may want to think about getting some lessons from Shearer on the art of sticking your elbows / arse out - give the defenders clattering into the back of him something to be wary of.

Champions League observations.

Quite a lot of the clubs are championship standard at best.

Van de Ven’s goal wasn’t that good - more or less just ran in a straight line.

The coefficient thing is a form of cheating.

The amount of adverts in podcasts is creeping up.

The wet wipes one on @podonthetyne.bsky.social is particularly annoying as it is presumably paid for by a company that pumps raw sewage into our rivers.

Think I preferred it when podcasts were less polished but created by passionate ‘amateurs’.

There is a strong correlation between wages and on field performance.

Post Ashley the #NUFC wage bill has grown to the eighth highest in the PL.

On that metric Howe has over achieved and those who want him gone should be careful what they wish for.

That was abysmal and the table doesn’t lie after ten games.

#NUFC need to sort themselves sharpish but I fear things won’t change much until Wissa is up and running.
November 2, 2025 at 4:05 PM
The #NUFC adidas kits have been very disappointing. Apart from the retro hoops one they’ve all been a bit boring and / or a mishmash of design elements.

Stripes on the back, proper collar, no weird side panels - it’s not hard.
