I assume we’ll soon hear that Drumpf wishes to arrest Ronald Reagan for opposing Drumpf’s tariffs. Please: someone in, what’s left of the White House, tell him that Reagan was correct about mass tariffs, and that Reagan, has also been officially dead since 2004.
The Failed House Speaker: • Government shut down, Day 23. • Thousands of federal workers have not been paid. • Museums, parks, public agencies are closed. • Johnson won’t call members back. • Johnson won’t seat a new Dem. member from Arizona.

Attn: J. Roberts, J. Thune, M. Johnson: Someone has begun destruction of the White House which (fyi, since 1960) is an official National Historic Landmark. Under what authority can an occupant destroy all or any part of an NHL? The people of the U.S. own this landmark, not some temporary occupant.
How you feeling? I’m asking 'cause “The number of measles cases hit a 34-year high this summer, largely driven by the so-called ‘Southwest outbreak,’ which grew to more than 880 cases across Texas, New Mexico & Oklahoma.” Gee wiz, how'd that happen, Gov. Abbott?
Due to July flooding near Kerrville, TX, “135 people died along the river and the bodies of two victims, including an 8-year-old camper” have yet to be found.
So, Gov. Abbott sent 200 troops to Chicago at Drumpf’s request. And the dead & missing in Texas, Greg?
“Who could have seen this coming?” Firing (detonating) live artillery shells from US military howitzers over California's I-5 near San Diego, might be bad? Safety be damned. VP JD had to have his self-indulgent fireworks to prove he was really manly. Hoo-Rah asshole.
Add to your WTF list: Salesforce’s Marc Benioff said last week that [a] he fully supports Drumpf and [b] he wanted the National Guard to come to San Francisco. It’s no longer just about an ugly building. I guess there’s ugly inside the building too.
How to become popular in Italy: Francesca Albanese is so popular she can’t buy a cup of coffee in her hometown. (Someone always wants to pay her check.) She's been a hometown hero since the White House branded her an enemy. The Drumpf boomerang strikes again.
Chicago was home for me for 5 years in the 1970s. I came to love the city. In the ‘80s & ‘90s I regularly visited Chicago on business. Happy to hear that many locals are resisting ICE by “forming volunteer groups to monitor their neighborhoods” and more.
Maine Gov. Janet Mills wants to replace Susan Collins in the U.S. Senate. So does local Maine oyster farmer Graham Platner. Let’s see. What to do. Mills has been a good governor and Platner is a 40-year-old oyster farmer and former U.S. Marine.
Coal miners have long supported Drumpf. In reality, miners are just toys. Shills. It’s the mine owners and operators and their money that Drumpf loves. Today “miners say his administration is failing to enforce limits on a lethal workplace hazard: Black Lung Disease.” Shocking, huh? (NYT)
Drumpf never read, heard, or thought about Pastor Niemöller’s poem. Drumpf & most GOP are coming for us: Agnostics, anti-Drumpf Christians, Asians, Atheists, Blacks, Communists, Jews, Latinos, Muslims, Native Americans, Socialists, Trade Unionists & Billionaires.
Deep down inside we knew the Nobel deciders wouldn’t cave.
Venezuelan opposition leader, María Corina Machado, won this year's Nobel Peace Prize. And she remains in hiding. Predictably, Drumpf accused the Nobel jury of choosing politics over peace. Right. . . .
When Jeff B purchased WaPo it appeared the paper might survive. Not so fast. The list of displaced WaPo persons now includes Leonnig, Kessler, Kagan, Parker, Rubin, Telnaes and more. WaPo’s slogan needs an update:
Sort of fits so many former WaPo subscribers. I just cancelled my subscription and am looking for a new home. No matter what, I'll not give another penny to WaPo or Bezos until/unless WaPo finds a legitimate and credible owner.
The Drumpf administration believes that an emphasis on Green energy places an UNFAIR burden on the coal, oil and gas mongers—miners, drillers, refiners, owners. Maybe Donnie longs to bring back the beauty & romance of Black Lung Disease & other pollution related maladies.
Drumpf attacks seniors. Again. His plan “will make it harder for older Americans to qualify for Social Security disability payments.” He’ll overhaul part of the federal safety net for poor, older and disabled, likely resulting in hundreds of thousands of people losing benefits. (Front page, WaPo).
Coming this winter to a street corner near you: The GOP Free Fire Zones.
Apparently this is Drumpf's plan for keeping seniors and the poor warm this winter. Look for those community fires on American streets keeping families from freezing.

When Steve Forbe’s (of Forbes Magazine) ran for president—1996 & 2000, he promoted a Flat Tax. Let’s re-consider that idea. How about, the first $35,000 is tax free, and beyond that, all individuals & businesses—for-profit & non-profit, must pay 15%. Period. You, me Amazon, etc. pay up. Just sayin.
