Not gonna lie, this conversation about cybersecurity sufficiently stopped me in my tracks. All of us are VULNERABLE in ways you might not even consider -- including our voices. 🤦‍♂️

Bast's top tip: Get a high-quality VPN, not a free or cheap one.

Worth the listen/watch.
Think your data and devices are protected from hackers? Thanks to AI, the hidden dangers are even more sophisticated than you might imagine, according to Bast Schellhorn of Texas A&M’s Cybersecurity Center.

This was a good talk about our collective fascination with true crime content - with someone who did (and still does) the hard work of pursuing leads and facts, and then telling compelling stories. @clairestamant.bsky.social teaches @baylor.bsky.social, but recently spoke to students at Texas A&M.
48 Hours former field producer turned true crime podcaster Claire St. Amant recently spoke to Texas A&M journalism students about what the world needs and expects from the next wave of reporters and storytellers.

Fascinating, non-traditional career arc.

Important for Aggieland. Important for America.
🚨 The House just passed a proposal to claw back 2026–27 funding from public media — threatening NPR, PBS & local stations like KAMU, which has been part of Aggieland since 1970.

Rural communities, emergency alerts & trusted news are at risk.

The Senate’s next. Please speak up:

Remember when live music was a bigger deal in Aggieland? G. Rollie White Coliseum, The Hall of Fame, Northgate...

Where did all that go?

One group thinks it can activate aspiring artists, local venues, and audiences.

I had no idea that a freedom colony -- what had once been a thriving Black community after the Civil War -- was only a handful of miles from campus. And that even more freedom colonies are all around us. This was a fascinating story that I hope helps save Dabney Hill.
Can Dabney Hill, a post-Civil War freedom colony near Snook, be saved from encroaching development? Texas Monthly's Mike Hall tells the story of colony descendant Gloria Smith in the new Texas PBS docuseries "Texas Monthly Presents."

I've heard quiet talks about a Hensel Park redo for many years, but this public discussion of how Texas A&M University, City of Bryan and City of College Station intend to collaborate on making it a special resource for the community is tremendously encouraging.
Hensel Park, the Texas A&M-owned green space at the intersection of A&M, College Station and Bryan, is poised for an actual extreme makeover. Dr. Scott Shafer is a leading advocate for the project and for creating better outdoor spaces in Aggieland.
