i said the phrase "soft balkanization" the other day and it's hitting a lot differently now because that's what seems to be happening
So am I reading this court decision correctly? We now have 50 micronations with their own laws interpreting the U.S. Constitution wholly separate from one another? But there's one guy with private law enforcement who is immune from all punishment who can do whatever he wants in those 50 states?

Capitalism incentivizes individualism, which can be anti-social. We have to take care not to accept the idea that a society is a mere sum of individuals, because then we miss the central interdependence of the societies we live in- and that undergirds the devaluation of care work.

I think the eagerness to 'diagnose' public figures as narcissists or sociopaths is misdirected. It's certainly easier than admitting that our current social structures reward anti-social behaviors and attitudes.
