I notice that I often need spend quite some time with my personal work for it to develop into something I'm happy with. Often well into rendering. Which is not an ideal time to make adjustments. Maybe I should try working on multiple illustrations at once so I can sit with the sketches longer.

Dean Cornwell was an American artist from the early 20th century, also called the Dean of illustration. He painted this canvas for the 1921 book “Find the Woman” by Arthur Somer Roche.
