yea i do find it funny even the staff have that image of hardline nomura sometimes like hamaguchi was talking bout the sephiroth fight he thought he would have to do alot of convincing, or red13 chocobo he just was very amicable and approved it.

i feel anti nomura ppl think that hes this tyrant dictating everything in SE, but alot of interviews and ultimanias are mostly "the staff had this idea, sure why not lol it sounds cool/interesting" granted its not always 100% bangers imo but what is 100%? when you deal w/ so many projects

nomura seems like the type of dev if someone in his staff convinces him the idea is interesting or doable enough he'd give the greenlight. same vibes from the khml q/a while back or when he approved hamaguchi idea of sephiroth final boss for 7r1

ai comments are such an insult to both artists... god this is actually such a big issue since i see this alot in env concept art as well when people photobash or use mixer brush. like a pretty well known magic the gathering artist also got the ai comment before the full card w/ name credits came out

prob will be the case like it was for 7r/kh since he usually works w/ the same core character team w/couple outsource. im more curious what lv involvement nomura will be since he HAS to be involved since its dissidia. id be lying if i would be sad if we find out mitsunori takahashi is on this though

i could also see miki yamashita or mihoko ishii on it as well since they work w/ nomura alot and nomura seems to be elevating the artists he works w/ recently like lisa fujise on 7EC and it would be prob make sense since yamashita designed remus and strelitzia and is familiar w/ nomura's style

now that i think about it 1 of the crit of ff16 is actually similar since alot of the major cities are backdrop in levels so you are "visiting" these cities in cutscenes or levels but ppl just want to explore these places like you do in 7r's midgar sector 7 or gongaga rather then like 16's twinside

you dont see alot of ppl complain about ff13-2 since the story feeling is very similar but you just get to explore the areas w/ chars

i actually have no doubt that if ff13 kept its script and presentation the same but literally just let you explore palumpolum or the bodhum flashback area alot of ppl would have been placated

w/reaction to insane ppl saying clair obscur was fine&other more jrpg need to be "realistic" i do think FF's kinda near realism just broke ppls brain since the type of characters/storys it covers isnt that much diff to older ff's but the presentation moving on from ps2 style just was the last straw?

my theory is alot fo ppl distaste of char like hopes understandable reaction to snow, snows personality&how he copes w/ the result of hopes mom and serah, lightning being a prominent female character, and vanilles accent in the ps3 era of gamers just ticked every box for not engaging w/ 13 fairly

its funny since i replay 13 like here and there throughout the years and like while they dont spell it out literally word for word. if you actually pay attention in the early hours you can understand what the lcie and falcie are through context or stuff like the purge.

i find it interesting since 13 explains those terms through its scenes diagetically through the early hours and falcie and lcie are no different to how other creators make power terminologies from normal japanese words or wordplay from different words.

idk what media op consume but other times ive seen the complaints about L'Cie/Fal'Cie, its also from ppl that consume anime like jjk, bleach, one piece, etc. but those ppl are usually okay with terms like bankai, hanten jutsushiki, ryōiki tenkai, haki.

i was helping someone find the source for yesterdays quote (it was from multiplayer in 2018 e3) i found this quote which kinda answers "what FF is" from sakaguchi and also nomura's thoughts on FF's before 7r/kh3 release was interesting. this was gamespot 2018

it would have been super cool if they added the idea of b/c insomnia was under seige they just made their own cell infrastructure like with insomnia using yen vs gil so outside noctis and co HAD to rely on newspapers and radio since they had lucis sim cards lol
