The Viera looks much better than what you're seeing but it struggles with RGB signals from 90s gear, hence the display issues.

I've briefly tested it to confirm that it actually works. Once again, the ZX Spectrum PSU works with everything! I'll have to set up my 4:3 LCD TV as the RGB SCART signal wasn't even recognised by my LED TV and the plasma struggled with it, as it does with my Dreamcast.

When you grew up spending weekends and summer holidays with a dad who ran an audiophile business, it had somewhat of an impact. 😁

The picture quality is better too, reportedly.

It would've been cheaper to snag a Mega Drive 1 from Japan but I learned that the Genesis 1 (especially this model) has amongst the best sound quality of all the GEN/MD units.
