Like the turn of the millennium, I think we’re in a bubble. Money is pouring in, chasing AGI. The bots are impressive, but the ROI does not meet the hype. I think we’re going to have an AI bust that will rival the Dot-com bust.

What all in one AI desktop app are you using? I want something that works with local LLMs (Llama, Qwen, Mistral, SD, Flux, etc on my networked Linux machine) and online (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude). I want to experiment, train, and keep some chats local.

What are you using?

It's pretty cheap to blast a million emails and SM posts and now you can have AI write it all for you. We're creating the digital Great Pacific Garbage Patch. We've got all this crap floating around making everyone's online life worse. Reach out yourself. Make human connections.

I think personal and professional goal setting is like going to a college advisor. You start with a dream of what you want your life to be, they break it down into smaller goals, and then that drives your daily tasks and routines. blog.jaredtabb.com/2025/09/01/i...

It's frustrating that there are Google Gemini features in the free public version that I don't have on my paid workspace account. I can't delete conversations and I can't adjust saved info. Grrr.

Why do I feel like the only difference between now and 2005 is we have smart phones and they have Ed Hardy?

@popsky.app what’s the purpose of the Atmosphere tab on the app? Is the plan to have more there in the future?

I totally get why people become grumpy old dads. It takes a lot more effort to be a fun dad but totally worth it.

Are there any credible groups out there ranking AI services privacy record? I use Local LLMs but I don't have the horse power to do what I can with Gemini or ChatGPT. I just don't trust them with my code or invention ideas.

Where does everyone store photos these days? I currently have last 20 years of digital photos spread between a Google Photos, iCloud, IG/FB, and a very slow Synology NAS.

I really want to plop them all in one place that's secure and private and quickly organizes them for me.

I just discovered @popsky.app. I've been looking for a good Fediverse movie, tv show, and book tracker.

Not too many people on it though. Go join.

I grew up 10 min from Black Wall Street and didn’t learn about Tulsa Race Riot until I was in my 30s. The interstate cuts right through that area and divides the black part of town and the white part of town. This is why we need to teach about systematic racism and have DEI research in the DOT.

I used LinkedIn successfully in what I think is a non-Lunatic way. I post frequently about my opinions of my industry and advocate for WFH. I frequently get customers and vendors bring up my posts, but it’s a very niche audience. I HATE LinkedIn, but it where my customers are. Fediverse catch up!

I, In no way think we should burry our heads in the sand, but I seriously think we should all consider going back to reading Sunday paper. There would be significant mental health benefits, but if also Supports journalism, comes with comic strips, and there are so many uses of old newspapers.

Not a lot of people understand this... but you actually don’t have to have an opinion about everything. You don’t have to decide if something is good or bad. Marcus Aurelius says limiting the amount of opinions we have is one of the most powerful things we can do in life.
