Thanks to Matt for having me on, and thanks to everyone who’s been listening and reading. Super cool to see the book out in the world and very rewarding to know that it’s a helpful resource!
Everyone’s always saying “Jared, I simply don’t have enough podcasts to listen to.” Well, fret no more. Here’s a great hour of Every Frame Counts talk with Matt Feury on The Rough Cut! #PostChat #PostSky

Hey also there’s a giveaway you can enter for a chance to win a signed copy. So there’s that, too.
Whoa! Jack Brown aka “The Avid Assistant” on YouTube reviewed my book, Every Frame Counts. He talks about what the book is, and just as importantly, what the book is *not*. If you’re on the fence, check out his review! #PostChat #PostSky

I finally received my own copies in the mail. Can’t wait to read each one. Check out page 96…
The reviews are in, the author approves.

PS: The page turning is due in part to both the compelling contents of the text as well as the helpful nature of the cross-referencing.
A free downloadable dailies checklist?? Wow. Click below.

Comedy is so important to me, and I cherish my short stint at UCB. I honestly I think Alan made this video for me and me alone, and everyone else is just allowed to watch it: #PostChat #PostSky

Unfortunately “Every Frame Counts” does *not* cover codecs like 1.2 Yums, Tizz 5D, or Horngut 222… apologies, @alanresnick.bsky.social.

Other codecs and naming conventions are outlined in the Turnovers chapter though. Here’s a screenshot of how I organize my DNxHR SQ media onto Nexis workspaces.

I do it with a combination of imported JPEGs and preset sequences. The sequences have a piece of blank media with a color effect on them, and a SubCap effect that allows me to change the text without creating new media.

More on this around p. 113 (still awaiting final proof pages!)

Thanks Kristina!
Every editor has their own preferences, but creating little “Post-It”-style notes helps communicate more visually.
