Earlier this month, when paying a bill online, I happened to click the "Choose Currency" button for the payment website. The web browser's suggested choices for currency were, um, interesting.

October 21 marks 20 years since an incredible record was set in my beloved #IslaMujeres.
On 21-22 Oct 2005 this weather station set the Western Hemisphere 24-hour rainfall record, 1633.98 mm (that's over 64.3 inches in 24 hours!) during Hurricane Wilma.

TIL that bread pudding is big in Mexico and the rest of Latin America. At a supermercado in Moore, OK, in the pan dulce area, there was this stuff called budin de pan. It's bread pudding made of previous day's leftover rolls + lots of coconut and cinnamon. OMG SO GOOD. Tasty rabbit hole of learning.

My parents are moving some stuff they have at my house. Mom found some phone books and we wondered if OKC will accept them for recycling. It then occurred to us that if we called to ask, there is a non-zero chance that a young person answering the call would have no idea what we were talking about.

We're doing surplus at work and it's finally time to send this little one on its way. After nearly 26 years, it still works like new and has been used until now, because it readily accepts funky video frequencies from various rackmount servers at which expensive KVM systems balk.
