Hello, Bluesky. 👋

My name is Janelle Kellman, and I'm a Democrat running to be California's next Lieutenant Governor.

As an attorney, I’ll lead the fight against the unelected billionaires and leaders in Washington who are waging attacks on our state.

Please follow and repost to spread the word.
Fantastic event last night with the LA Democratic Party! Ran into my LA friends, plus LA Sheriff Robert Luna, Al Muratsuchi, candidate for Superintendent of Public Instr. & current Superintendent Tony Thurmond, now running for Governor. Thank you to Hans for walking me around!

Even in California's smallest beach towns like Stinson Beach, proud Americans rallied to shout "No Kings" here! Power to the Amazing People!

Such a cool afternoon recording a Facebook live with my buddy Neil at the iconic Santa Cruz Boardroom and getting to see my dear friend, former Mayor of Santa Cruz, Hilary Bryant - huge thanks to you both for a great afternoon!

MSNBC & Reuters reported that Trump’s “Border Czar,” Tom Homan, was investigated for accepting $50,000 from undercover FBI agents. The same man harassing families in CA is still working for Trump. We deserve answers and accountability. Tom Homan should either resign or be fired.
As we welcome the new year, I’m inspired by Rabbi Hillel’s words: “If not now, when?” May we recommit to tikkun olam—repairing the world together. Wishing you joy, health & renewal. L’shana tovah!
I was so honored to join Legal Aid of Marin's fundraiser last night.

Now, more people than ever are on the front lines of their communities, fighting for one another, protecting one another.

This is where it starts. And this is how we are going to stick together.
The First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech. We’re watching in real time as the administration silences voices that dare to speak against him. This isn't the America that I believe in, that I've spent my life working to serve. We must stand together and defend our rights.
Today we remember 9/11. I still recall watching the news in horror, reaching out to friends and family on the East Coast with disbelief.
We honor the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, and their courage in the face of tragedy. May we never forget. May their memories be a blessing.
Real change starts in our own communities- that’s why I’ve taken the time to volunteer on my city’s disaster preparedness committee!
California is too damn expensive. So frustrating.
Let’s fix it. 💪

✅ Fair insurance coverage for all
✅ Lower college costs
✅ Jobs you can live on
✅ A California you can afford

Let’s actually make it happen.

Devastated by the loss in Texas. Over 100 lives gone — parents, children, neighbors. Trump weakened the agencies meant to protect us, now we pay the price. Tragically.
Six months ago, the Palisades Fire tore through our community — homes lost, families shaken, lives changed. 💔

Wildfire season is faster, and more dangerous than ever. We owe it to every family to act — prevention, resilience, real solutions.

If you’re feeling uneasy about where we are — you're not alone. I am too.

The truth is: California’s future depends on whether we can prove that leadership rooted in measurable outcomes, real innovation, and hard work can overcome cynicism and broken promises.

We must step up and meet the moment.
Today we traveled by boat along the Klamath River, stopping at sacred sites, old-growth redwoods, and villages along the way.

These lands carry deep history and even deeper resilience. Yurok Tribe leadership made this dam removal possible, and now they’re shaping a more just and sustainable future.
Today, we began our journey in Yreka and visited the Iron Gate and Copco dam removal sites — the largest dam removal project in U.S. history and proof that when California leads boldly, we can tackle even the most complex infrastructure challenges.
Earth Day is a reminder that we don’t have time for half-measures.

Heatwaves are intensifying, wildfires are more devastating, and droughts are pushing our communities to the brink.

We cannot wait for Washington to act — California must lead. Not with lofty promises, but with bold action.
Happy Earth Day! We are honoring this day by heading to Yreka for the start of our four-day journey through Northern California.

This trip is a firsthand look at how bold infrastructure projects can revive ecosystems, create jobs, and empower local communities.

To every immigrant feeling unsafe right now, know that California STANDS WITH YOU.

We proudly welcome all who seek a better future and are ready to contribute to our great state.

Together, we won’t just endure the Trump era — we’ll rise, rebuild, and thrive.
Not only is this administration defying a Supreme Court order to bring back Kilmar Abrego Garcia — but they seem to take a sick pride in the pain they're causing.

Make no mistake, this is what authoritarianism looks like.
Democrats face a defining moment: reclaim our legacy as the party of the working class and bold progress, or let opportunists fill the void.

The energy for change right now is undeniable. We must rise to meet the moment.

Governor Newsom just announced a lawsuit challenging Trump’s authority to impose tariffs without Congressional approval.

Every Democratic governor in the nation should join him immediately.

If Democratic leaders won’t stand up to Trump now, when he's draining billions from our economy, then when?
