And just to note: this is the official death toll, which most experts consider a significant underestimate. The actual number is likely much higher — see, for example, this recent study: www.nature.com/articles/d41...

We're probably talking about 4,000+ 9/11s for Palestinians
First independent survey of deaths in Gaza reports more than 80,000 fatalities
Results align with other efforts to count the number of people killed amid the ongoing conflict.

Defenders of Israels war crimes often remind us that October 7 was the equivalent of twelve 9/11s, and that therefore, Israel had no other choice.

You never hear them do the math for Palestinians, who have now endured the equivalent of at least 2,500 9/11s.

It’s especially ironic because the lecture is exactly about the ‘paralyzing cowardice’ of today’s elites.

About universities, corporations and media networks bending the knee to authoritarianism. /4

Here's the transcript. When I say ‘we had a convicted reality star’, you can add ‘who now rules as the most openly corrupt president in American history’ in your head.

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

#Reithlecture was good. To kowtow to Trump et al by editing out a sentence is actually same behavior as Trump. @shelaghfogarty.bsky.social public is aware & afraid of #bbc cowardice possibly creating it's own downfall @weownit.org.uk
