A local walk today (bit windy so no bike ride) resulted in seeing a swathe of wildflowers along a very busy relief road - kidney vetch, ox eye daisies and stunning pyramidal orchids were everywhere! A real feast for the eyes #wildflowerhour

Anyone else got baby goldfinches on their feeders? They’re noisily flapping and cheeping in the tree whilst their parents calmly feed away, with the occasional ‘buzz’ saying “my turn now!” It’s so wonderful I can watch them from my lounge.

Great article. My grandparents and in-laws all said living through the war was terrible, they weren’t jingoistic in the slightest. Every VE Day was one of quiet contemplation, not plastic flag waving.
