The Canadian beaver is a nice touch. 😀
Blast from the past…
Watched “House of Dynamite” and it’s this generation’s “Dr. Strangelove, but without the satire.

General Brady is what we fear the military is *really* like.
The character he played had a lot of drive to achieve his ambitions, although his ambitions were a bit warped.

You might say he even had warped drive. 🤔
Bonus points for anyone who can name the actor playing Sejanus.
“I have no need of a trial to prove your guilt."

- Sejanus in “I, Claudius”

“Canadian boomers — those between the ages of 61 and 79, traditionally known as the snowbird generation — have seen the largest decline in trips planned to the U.S.: down 66 per cent from last year with only 10 per cent planning to head to the U.S. this winter.”

Well done, boomers! 👍
“44 per cent of Canada’s Gen Z population — those between 13 and 28 — still have the U.S. on their destination list, down just 18 per cent.”

What the fuck is wrong with these Gen-Z kids?

Thirty-seven. Per. Cent. Drop.

Fucking awesome, Canada! 👍

“Venezuelan President Maduro is reaching out to Russia, China and Iran to enhance its worn military capabilities and solicit assistance — requesting defensive radars, aircraft repairs and potentially missiles”

Totally crazy that U.S. might attack Venezuela.

Someone, please explain how it made sense for Hispanics to vote for the guy who is trying to deport immigrants.🧐

“‘It would seem we are in this together and will have to rise above it. Otherwise keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon!!!!,’ Andrew wrote on Feb. 28, 2011, two months after he’d claimed to have cut off all contact with Mr. Epstein.”

If I lived in D.C. I’d dress up as Tom Homan and carry a Cava bag full of Monopoly money and tell homeowners I wasn’t accepting candy, only cash. And maybe some “nose candy” if it had some substantial street value, like six-figure street value.🤔
Canada’s government passes legislation with a simple majority. There is no concept of the “filibuster” in a parliamentary system.

Yet we have not turned into rabid dogs snarling at each other’s throats, passing and then annulling legislation with each change of government.

Funny listening to commentators on @msnbc.com talk about the horrors of eliminating the filibuster. They exclaim with horror that governments with a simple majority in the House/Senate would become unstoppable madmen, doing unthinkable harm.

Apparently they never heard of the parliamentary system.
While government workers are trying to figure out how to make their next rent or mortgage payment, SNAP recipients examine their cupboards to see how much food they have and how long it will last them, and regular working folk try to stretch their paycheck to the next payday, King Trump shows this.
the tone deafness is beyond parody
Truly, a bathroom fit for The Man Who Would Be King™️.🙄
Surprised Trump went with an off-the-shelf toilet from Home Depot and not a gold-flecked bowl, as Saddam did. 🤔
He might attack Venezuela. Then again, he might not. He might sing a happy tune in the shower tonight while scrubbing between his toes. Then again, he might not.

If you ever wonder why the U.S. never makes meaningful progress on social issues, perhaps it’s because they have this retrograde “filibuster” that impedes progress.

Just a thought.
