Reporters, always remember: The best way to do an interview is to get your source drunk and then not use a recorder or take any notes when collecting quotes. Your editor will absolutely LOVE you! #tcmparty @tcmtv.bsky.social @tcmparty.bsky.social @tcmfans.bsky.social

Eddie and the Cruisers being cheered by a 1963 college crowd reminds me of Barbra Streisand winning over a stadium full of rock fans in A STAR IS BORN. Sure, Jan! #tcmparty @tcmtv.bsky.social @tcmparty.bsky.social @tcmfans.bsky.social

It’s like if you did a movie about a celebrated ‘80s band that played “Minnie the Moocher,” A Tisket, A Tasket” and “Mambo Italiano.” #tcmparty

It’s one of the things that makes me cringe in old movies. First of all, it’s really risky. Second, what a terrible smell to permeate your sheets and pillowcases.

I recall Stevie Nicks saying Lindsey wrote “listen to the wind blow” — and left her and Christine to write everything else! Pretty typical of the “group projects” I’ve worked on over the years!

Very close! It’s from 1961. And also from Satan’s cookbook, I suspect…

You are exactly right. The movie completely tanked when it opened and was quickly dumped. People “discovered” it on cable.

Broiled cottage cheese (!!!) and crushed potato chips on hot dogs. One of my coworkers said this recipe sounded “like heaven.” If nothing else, it would probably help you get there faster! 🤢

I interviewed Patty Duke years ago and she said those TV movies were lots of fun to do: “We used to joke about ‘What’s the disease this week?’ But they really did help some people.” Fascinating lady!

My teenage sister was crazy about hair-bands in 1884. She saw SPINAL TAP and came home in a foul mood. “The music was terrible. And the movie was so bad, PEOPLE WERE LAUGHING AT IT!” I didn’t have the heart to tell her! #tcmparty @tcmtv.bsky.social @tcmfans.bsky.social @tcmparty.bsky.social

Wait until they find out you do not get the $50K upfront! 🙄

Yeah, Jane Wiedlin laid it all out in a very frank interview: The label was positioning Belinda to be a solo star and the others were basically parsley. She said there were lots of fights over the writing credits on the TALK SHOW songs. Oh, and lots of drugs, of course.

And the only time I saw the DVD was as part of a “great actresses” box set. I am so glad I got it!

MRS. SOFFEL is one of those movies that you recommend to people and they tell you later, “That was so great! How did I never hear about it before?” And a true story, too! #DianeKeaton #MatthewModine

If you’ve never seen #DianeKeaton in SHOOT THE MOON, you’re missing out. An absolutely powerhouse performance that hits an astonishing range of notes. I promise, you’ll think of her every single time you hear “If I Fell.”

It’s amazing on the big screen — and Paramount FINALLY brought out a beautiful DCP version a few years ago.

I was fortunate to screen REDS a couple of years ago at Alamo Drafthouse and I was startled by how many people had never seen it before. That incredible chemistry between Keaton, Beatty and Nicholson absolutely knocked them out — Keaton, in particular.

A CRY IN THE DARK is a perfect illustration of how gossip, public perception and circumstantial evidence can destroy people. The final twist in the story occurred after the movie was filmed and before it was released. #tcmparty @tcmtv.bsky.social @tcmparty.bsky.social @tcmfans.bsky.social

My heart aches for what you went through. I know far too many people who convinced themselves they could “change” if they just got married and had kids and “played it straight.” Some of them are still living that lie. Many are miserable but can’t stop pretending.

My Dad was an exceptionally gifted conversationalist, so I bet it was a treat!

If it had been Sean Connery or Steve McQueen or even Dustin Hoffman, my Dad would probably have recognized him. But he had never seen a single Nicholson movie until TERMS OF ENDEARMENT. I do recall he really wanted to see REDS, but I guess he never got around to it!
