Building a DIY synthesiser from scratch, making music, reliving my youth with BBC Model B and Amiga computers, building Ben Eater’s 6502 breadboard computer and photography - just a few interests.
Inspired by the ever-inventive @msmadlemon.bsky.social I finally threw together a joystick tester. Very simple but effective. It’s quicker/easier than a continuity test with a meter. My thrown together solution is much less elegant than Maddi’s :)

A few months ago I replaced the capacitors on my Amiga 1200. After some careful consideration I opted for the controversial pliers and twisting technique. It seems like the easiest method to remove the old caps. Very gradual twists to start, slowly increasing. Even corroded pads were unscathed!

@commodorelad.uk hi Adam, I enjoyed listening to you recently on More Fun Talking Retro. I grew up with Amigas during my teens and am reliving those times now! I wondered if I may send you a private message regarding a C64 query if that’s ok?

I recently opened up a lovely #heathkit #signalgenerator and also added an adapter from coax to mono 3.5 audio jack. It’s a rather lovely build inside.

Here’s a picture of the synthesiser I have building on and off for the last five years or so. Mostly based on schematics shared by others and a few of my own modifications and designs.
