It’d be a brilliant move from Chicago, who used 4/5 different players at 15 in 2025 but Videla solves that issue instantly!

I think that’s far too ambitious to start.

In the article I mention that it makes the most sense to start with a one off ‘champion v champion’ match. Rugby isn’t in the position in the Americas where it can host a 6-game competition across huge distances

Wall only earned his #MLR debut in Rd12 of #MLR2025, but made a massive impact for the Hounds in the back half of the season!

I thought the Scumhalf duo of McVeigh & Buckley worked well for @oldglorydc.bsky.social in 2025, but maybe McVeigh had the opportunity for a starting gig somewhere else?

McVeigh was included in the USA's November Test squad, but was listed as 'Unattached'

Between the Flags and San Diego (2021), McVeigh has started 17 of his 38 #MLR appearances over 3 seasons, scoring 4 tries and gaining over 400m while completing 136 tackles total!

The #URC season ends in Mid-May, so it’s possible that Klein to #MLR for a playoff push.

He’s still be with the Italian side for the start of #MLR2206, though.

I'm glad it's up from the rumoured 5 Intl spots. I think 7 is the sweet spot, but I'm disappointed that Canadians now count against that.

There have been vague rumours of WR toying with the idea of forming an Anthem-style team in Canada now that they're #RWC27 qualified, which would surely be PP

That being said, 7 Intl spots (max) per 23 is better than initial rumours so makes some more room for Canucks.

Still plenty of questions to be answered before we get close to #MLR2026!

I think it's excellent that #MLR recognise this turmoil as an opportunity to reset and build stronger, but screwing over Canadian players on Canadian Thanksgiving weekend is poor.

The sooner #RugbyCanada (or whoever) can get a team in the comp (where US players are Intl), the better.

#MLR2026 WILL GO AHEAD!

After the worst offseason in league history, #MLR provide a statement comfirming that Intl spots will drop to 7 per matchday 23 (max), and Canadians now count against that.

This is up from the initially rumoured 5 Intl spots.
