Now well into my 60s, I've lived my life as lefty. No one ever tried to 'correct' me at school, perhaps I was just lucky.
Sounds like your elderly teacher was brought up in a different era!
Looking a bit stiff-legged at the back.
I hope you're doing OK Larry x
Yes, that was specifically about the right/left-handedness, which nobody cares about. However I feel the most important thing is whether you're a good person who contributes in whatever way to society.
I don't understand the obsession with birth sex, chromosomes or genitalia.
The trans community is keeping its fingers crossed.
Let's hope for a better outcome for this needlessly denigrated group of people.
It's all irrelevant, it doesn't matter, nobody cares.
We all just get on in life as best we can & try to be nice to others.
That's of academic interest only. What matters is who you are in society, how you interact with others, & if you're a pleasant person that gets along with others in your community. That's what others see & judge you on, not what you were like when you were born. We've all moved on from that.
That may well be the case, and I agree, it would make it the most challenging time.
Things have probably changed just in the past year, 6 months even. Some GPs were willing to prescribe hormones after a diagnosis of gender dysphoria, but now it seems many more are reluctant.
Medication if you can get it, legal documents & surgery if desired come later on.
Transition takes many years.
Actually you can self-ID as a trans person tomorrow, but that's usually at the start of the transition process. You would probably start to dress differently to fit in with your chosen gender, change your name by Deed Poll, then get a new passport & driving licence in your new name.
Women are all those people that consider themselves to be women.
It's not my place to judge.
I reject the idea that women have to pass the 'looking feminine enough' test that's imposed on us by society. Women can, should, and do, look however they choose to look.
I agree.
All the rest is a side-issue.
I've lived as female all my life but have never had my chromosomes analysed.
Not all women who are assigned female at birth, can then go on to give birth themselves, so this can't be used as a criterion.
I think biological sex isn't in dispute (although biologists have a lot to say on this) but the importance of it is. What is more important - the person you see standing before you who presents as m or f, or what their chromosomes are, what their genitals are, or what their birth certificate says?
Why is antisemitism singled out, & not anti-Muslim, racists, anti-trans etc etc as well ?
She's enjoying spouting out this nonsense, knowing she'll go unchallenged
I've been invited for a flu jab but not Covid.
Who are they being offered to?
It was a tongue-in-cheek comment.
Does anyone know what he means...?
I'm sure he doesn't
We used to think Priti Patel was bad.
If only we'd known how good it was back then 🤣
262,000 trans people were recorded in the 2021 UK census.
Trans & cis are scientific terms used & understood for centuries. Humans can also be trans & cis. Most people tend to live as their sex designated at birth but for some this is impossible, so they change.
It's not for us to be judgemental.
