My obsidian plugin is officially out of bot-purgatory and into human-review-limbo! They say patience is a virtue. Stay tuned.

My keyboard is gathering dust... I'm increasingly using voice-to-text for everything. While tools like WhisprFlow are a helpful middleman, I wish more applications offered integrated voice functionality. Will keep this in mind for future projects and upgrades...

I have been using WisprFlow for faster input into various applications, especially taking notes, but I wanted to be able to customize the format of the output. So I built an @obsidian.md plugin jayarerita.github.io/obsidian-ai-... that will reformat the text you spew into notes, tasks, etc.

Pretty surprised at the pixel art characters and assets kiro.dev generated from scratch for a 2D game I tried building with it as a test piece.

Is the new AI ide from AWS, kiro.dev , the answer to "vibe coding" chaos?

I am pretty impressed so far with the approach of stepping through their pipeline of requirements -> technical design -> actionable tasks.

Put together a new GitHub template repository to demonstrate integrating AWS Amplify Authentication into a @tanstack.com Start project. I ran into a few issues with setup when refactoring a react-router project over to Tanstack Start, so I made this from the basic-auth example to get my bearings.

Shout out to @kenney.nl for his awesome pixel art assets which often include a set of discrete tiles to go along with the packed tile sheets if you only need a few tiles.

A few years ago I built a little python cli version of the Penniless Pilgrim Game from TedX just to brute force a solution. Recently I rebuilt an interactive web version using #AmazonQDevCLI for the #BuildGamesChallenge. Check out the game at jayarerita.github.io/penniless-pi...

Looking into food databases for my UC tracking app today...

The good: @openfoodfacts.bsky.social is an incredible open source resource with comprehensive data.
The challenge: Their API rate limits don't play nice with my planned architecture.

"What would it take to self-host this in DynamoDB?"

Thank you @tannerlinsley.com for making @tanstack.com Query work across frameworks! It really shines with AWS Amplfy's Gen 2 type system where all your types are automatically generated from your DB schema definitions.

Hidden gem in the @callstack.com React Native Paper example: built-in internationalization I wasn't even looking for! After ignoring i18n in previous projects (always "someday"), seeing their clean implementation + catching @syntax.fm podcast #781 with @w3cj.com
yesterday was perfect timing.

Just made a pivot in my UC tracking app that saved me hours of frustration. As a web dev diving into React Native for the first time, I naturally tried bringing my favorite workflow with me—using reusable component libraries similar to my beloved shadcn-ui approach.

It's been a while since I did any native dev, and the only thing more impressive than how much better it is with @expo.dev is the staggering number of dependencies I have managed to rack up

When you're managing ulcerative colitis, connecting the dots between triggers and flares feels like solving a mystery with missing pages as your side project. That's the problem I'm tackling with my latest endeavor.

Any parent who has ever fed their toddlers soup or quinoa understands that 80% of the appeal of chicken fingers is the low-mess clean up afterwards... The marketing department at Tyson and Purdue should really capitalize on this.

Working on a personal project/app to help manage UC symptoms. I need to access some food and allergen related data. I have been looking at world.openfoodfacts.org and platform.fatsecret.com/platform-api. Does anyone have other suggestions or opinions?
